I don’t know, not sure there’s enough time once you also include working out which of your 50 usernames is the correct one to use.

Particularly interesting decision given that it’s estimated that the 1918 Flu outbreak nearly killed as many American soldiers as WW1 and one of the earliest major outbreaks was in a US military base

LOL, my first job was selling trainers, cutting keys and occasionally helping repair shoes at Tony Andrew’s in Muswell Hill on a sat. I don’t remember how much I got paid though. I think it was about £2-3 an hour though.

What a combination of jobs! We must be related…. Apparently Clerkenwell had a big Italian immigrant community based around St Peter’s Italian Church, which could even have some additional details about my family which I might go and check out one day when I’m back in London.

Still not sure who the bare knuckle boxer in our family was though….but I’m less suspicious of it as my dad has also always talked about an Italian link which I’m now pretty sure is true

I love the Exmouth Arms, I worked /lived near it for years!! Btw in a unique twist, I’ve been doing more digging into my family’s boxing history and it actually centers around Clerkenwell and brass manufacturing, and turns out I might be a decent of Italian immigrants….

Serious London 80s nostalgia (also grew up in North London) now, thank you! I’m going to create a play list with these. I saw you’re also a big Gilles Peterson fan. What a DJ.

That’s exactly what The Blues & Soul Show (aka The Blues Kitchen from Brixton) used to do and it was beautiful thing but Spotify stopped supporting that format so they haven’t done one since 2024

100%. And on his argument, let’s not forget that he conveniently left out that AI was created and trained on all human knowledge and learning and wouldn’t do what it does without it. The narrative and comparison is completely flawed.

I don’t know the specific answer to your question, and not sure if your set up allows, but if it does, have you tried GitHub co-pilot with Claude 4,5 or Gemini 3 pro? I’ve found them very helpful for debugging Issues.

This week I got one LLM to undertake a complex task that none could get close to solving six months ago. At the end it said it had provided me with a link to the 200,000 rows of data output. The download was a fake link and it could not comprehend this when I fed that back to it.

Rob Aldridge @robaldridge.bsky.social · 19/12/2025
I’ve spent a decent amount of time over the last nine months experimenting with LLMs and seeing how to use them in my work. The last 2 months they’ve definitely improved a lot, but I’m still amazed at how they can be simultaneously creative/useful/efficient and being fatally flawed and wrong.

And if you haven’t spent hours on the front line in healthcare or AI, how can you feel so confident about your positions on these topics?

Rob Aldridge @robaldridge.bsky.social · 03/12/2025
My question to @rory-stewart.bsky.social is just how much time have you spent working in public health, healthcare and AI? I agree with you on many subjects, but in these areas - where I am one of Gove’s hated experts - I often disagree (hopefully agreeably) with your positions.

@therestpolitics.bsky.social as a Brit in the US, I very much enjoy Leading and the Rest is Politics and thought the interview with Michael Gove very entertaining. I was interested in Rory’s line of attack re Gove’s stance on Israel, focusing, in part, on how much time he’s spent in Gaza etc.

I would have also liked to have seen members of the public involved in these panels too so it wasn’t just a normative process. We did this with our scientific studies (eg ucl-virus-watch.net) and their insights were always so important and pragmatic

Let’s take a look at the whole “there are too many black people on TV” thing, shall we? After Pochin claimed Black people in TV adverts “made her mad”, all her supporters tried to use 👇🏼 as their excuse for why she was somehow justified in her overt racism. Spoiler - she isn’t! 🤨 🧵 1/22
