Doubtful anyone noticed, but I've been somewhat quiet here for a while now. Not for any particularly serious reasons, mostly just feelings of apathy towards social media. Also, I haven't been using my CRT too much as I recently got a used Xbox One X which has been surprisingly fun.

Pretty much every Grand Theft Auto, especially GTA V which I gave up on when it told me to ride a bike so that I could increase my running speed. Why play a game to do something I could just as easily do in real life?

Happy 40th birthday, Metroid! The OG released on Famicom Disk System ran, jumped, and spun into Japanese homes on 06/08/1986! The foundation of a genre-blending franchise that remains one of my favourite Nintendo ones to this day. 💜 Have you played the OG, peeps? Or its Zero Mission remake?

A very cool Japanese ad for Metroid with Samus stood in her power suit in the centre and almost wireframe smaller samuses in trails of mid-run and jump all across the screen as if they're slow-mo frames of movement.

Beat Campaign Evolved a couple days ago. Went through and unlocked all the skulls and terminals, so I can safely say I really enjoyed it. Sad to see it get such a bashing from fans and the wider gaming community. Obviously it isn't as good as the original Halo, but that doesn't make it garbage.

I still think that Halo 5, regardless of how you feel about the story and art style, is the most visually impressive of all the Halo games. Especially when you consider it's eleven years old and Infinite looks so much worse on newer hardware.

The earliest preview of Fallout (1997) that I've found yet, from before it even had that name. The GURPS licence that it initially had is first and foremost, with comparisons being drawn more to Wasteland's vibe and how it has more of a 'cyberpunk' flavour. 📖: Next Generation, June 1996
