I'm probably ok as long as it doesn't start raining upwards anytime soon.

Discworld QOTD, from Feet of Clay “They were men who felt that The Time Had Come. Regimes can survive barbarian hordes, crazed terrorists and hooded secret societies, but they're in real trouble when prosperous and anonymous men sit around a big table and think thoughts like that.”

Meh, this is just self preservation. I’ll believe it when he starts showing a pattern of behavior changes.

Damn, Arknights/Myethos figures always look so good, if only they didn’t cost a giant pile of money.

Finally some good news about the Mariners 2026 season.

Damn, Uber’s still going hard with the “won’t you think of the olds/night shift workers/patient” advertisements in Seattle. At least half the ads at Coleman dock were some flavor of this. Gross corporate propaganda.

Uber corporate propaganda:

Night-shift workers count on rideshare like Uber for dependable rides home.
*Morning Consult conducted survey on behalf of Uber, August 8-14, 2025

Uber corporate propaganda:

Uber supports millions of trips per month to doctor's offices, clinics, and hospitals.

Uber corporate propaganda:

40% of older adults drive less or don't drive at. all. Uber helps them stay connected.

One of my favorite things about visiting my friend on he peninsula is the ferry wait/ride that forces me to do all those non-phone things I’ve been putting off. Today’s thing is getting through at least two volumes of Rayearth pt1 which is all I ever read of the Tokyopop release forever ago.

Discworld QOTD, from The Wee Free Men

Witches are naturally nosy,” said Miss Tick, standing up. “Well, I must go. I hope we shall meet again. I will give you some free advice, though.”
“Will it cost me anything?”
“What? I just said it was free!” said Miss Tick.
“Yes, but my father said that free advice often turns out to be expensive,” said Tiffany.
Miss Tick sniffed. “You could say this advice is priceless,” she said, “Are you listening?”
“Yes,” said Tiffany.
“Good. Now...if you trust in yourself...”
“Yes?”
“...and believe in your dreams...”
“Yes?”
“...and follow your star...” Miss Tick went on.
“Yes?”
“...you’ll still be beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren’t so lazy. Goodbye.

I’ll never understand the modern uiux principle of burying information under multiple layers of menus. My local bus app used to be 1 button to find gps location info for a specific bus but after an update is now a minimum of 4 buttons + scrolling through 2 dropdowns, none of which add useful info.

シュタインズ・ゲート OP 「Hacking to the Gate」

Been a long time since I marathoned an entire 24ep show in a single day but reading Qualia the Purple made me want to rewatch Steins;Gate and wow, it’s still a fantastic show with one of the best dubs out there. OPs a banger too.
