It takes strength to look the person who could fire you in the eye and tell them that both they and their boss are giant pieces of trash. You usually don't win, but you definitely leave a mark, and you write your place in history. That's what Scott Pelley did today.

I'm trying to do better about posting my work here! Now up from me, another manifestation of the housing affordability crisis: escrow shortages.

Housing costs are through the roof. Escrow shortages are one symptom
As homeownership costs like insurance and taxes jump, more owners have escrow account shortages, even as many struggle with the basic cost of living.

The thing about Trump still threatening to fire Powell and still pushing the DoJ to go after the Fed is that the man could have his guy, Warsh, in charge of the central bank next month if he just chilled out. Instead, zero clarity when Warsh is confirmed amid broader Fed leadership uncertainty.

People might not know about the extreme level of worry that journalists live with after their story has been published or broadcast. The fear that they got something wrong literally keeps them up at night. Obsessively. Now imagine what it will be like as newsrooms thin out and more errors are made.
