Listening to Saxon today at work. It’s been forever and I have to say, still pretty good.

This is incredible. Vegas are $3 under the $104 million salary cap. Talk about maximizing!!

Thought the Habs did well Defensively, especially on the PK. There were some promising signs

Missed bits of pieces of the game for family reasons but Dach, Anderson and Matheson have been very good so far tonight.

Not the best start for the Habs but they settled in. Like how they played off the cycle and they seemed to be looking to shoot a little more.

Rick Springhetti @rickspringhetti.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

One thing about the Marchenko for Knies trade that I question: Knies was seemingly almost traded to the Habs last season and now has been traded to Columbus. Why would Toronto be so willing to trade a talented young player like that? Has to be a reason IMO.

I loved Italy, I wished that I could have stayed longer so the travel gods decided to have a laugh at my expense by having our connecting flight cancelled. Now, I am Stuck in Venice for an extra day. So sad. 🤣

@mccagg.bsky.social I made it a point to watch the defense of Dach you produced. I didn't see much of the game against Toronto, opting for the home game, and when I did flip to that game, analyzing Dach's game wasn't a top priority. However, watching his shifts in isolation on your video, it's...

This tiny church in my family village of Cavareno was built over 200 years ago. You can tell how old it is by the size of the door.

As I relax in a beautiful cafe in Italy, I have come to a realization that too many of us have a habit or grading the role or potential of NHL players too stringently. Most will move between lines, we should be looking at ranges instead of ultimates

Rick Springhetti @rickspringhetti.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

If you are in Trento, I highly recommend Caffe Bar Venezia. Nicely located, good food at a reasonable price but mostly, a very kind and welcoming staff.

Habs sign Newhook to another great deal. Not a Star Wars guy but I know a Jedi mind trick when I see it and thats what Kent Hughes does time and time again.

I don’t know how Kent Hughes does this , over and over again. Another good deal. They have their core signed and will have a ton of cap space available

Alright, Habs fans. You’re gonna have to let the anger go. 😀 It was 12 years ago. The Canadiens have signed Chris Kreider. A one year deal.

Rick Springhetti @rickspringhetti.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

1110

Rick Springhetti @rickspringhetti.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

There are many reasons to like the Chris Kreider deal for the Habs. Size, speed and scoring on a great contract. Also, he has a bit of a ruthless streak. Winning teams can’t only have nice, polite players. You need that killer instincts.

Habs fans, you won’t believe it but the salary is just over 2. He hits 3 with bonuses. I actually don’t really understand why he would ask to get out of a contract and then sign for HALF of what he made. HALF!!!! Confounding. He can’t hate the west/Anaheim that much, can he? Wild.
