Jurisdictional issues re the SARA lead to a lot of passing the buck as to who's responsibility it is, how much action will really be taken until really no action is taken... sad state of affairs for all listed species in Canada

The IRCC immigration medical for Canada is $225 and you have to go to a physician who's on a special list... all they do is listen to your breath sounds?! And take your height and weight! That's it! They want to ensure you don't have TB, I'm pretty sure my family doctor of 3 years could do that...

This, coupled with very infrequent range health assessments and even less frequent forage assessments, results in 'management' that is detached from current range condition which is a basic tenet of sustainable range ecology!

Just read this article... I will say as someone currently in the job market AB has a lot more postings, it is cheaper there and the jobs do seem to pay well. It doesn't help that in BC if you live outside lower mainland/the island/Okanagan services are much fewer 1/2 www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7414566

Not mentioned by BCWF... around 40% of our elk herds in the East Kootenays have lost their migration behaviour and are classified as resident elk. These resident elk largely congregate on irrigated agricultural fields in high densities... they do, however, interact with migratory elk in winter
