“They” is carrying the work here. If you interpret it sensibly then of course you’re right but if you’re a MAGA moron with a brain turned to mush on X, “they” is a dangerous cabal of trans immigrants or whatever they’re making up today.

In ordinary speech we gloss over these unfalsifiable hypotheticals, with good reason. If asked “where’s the soda,” I say “it’s in the fridge,” not “it’s probably in the fridge but maybe we’re brains in jars and the whole world we see is the matrix.”

What’s especially funny is how strongly these debates default to favoring republicans, by which I mean they default to favoring liars—moderators are afraid to fact check and mush-brained Americans fall for gish gallops all the time. Yet even with a stacked deck, R’s are scared!

The Satanic Temple is an atheist semi-religious organization that treats the Lucifer story as an allegory for free thought and seeking knowledge. The Church of Satan has the mystics, though I’m not 100% clear if they believe in literal Satan or just reskinned Wicca.

See like…. He means this. THIS is immediately impeachable and imprisonable. But it’s not gonna get mentioned in the mainstream press, they’re still caught up in him getting tongue tied over LA and blaming him for the one awful thing he probably *didn’t* mean. It’s perverse!

Create “balance” by running negative stories about Trump, but keep Trump safe by only running negative stories on things where he has an easy out. 2/2

The problem isn’t that Trump should or shouldn’t be given the benefit of the doubt; it’s the perverseness of him coasting by a thousand truly offensive comments and then finally catching flack the *one time* he didn’t *actually* mean it. If I was more conspiratorial I’d call it a plot: 1/2

I'm glad something is *finally* coming around to make Trump catch some small proportion of the consequences he deserves, but it's frustrating to me that after all the truly treasonous things he has said, he's getting the most pushback on the one thing he almost certainly didn't mean. 2/2

Okay but Trump *didn't* say blowing up LA was fine though? Sure, he's incoherent because he's senile. But the previous sentence was high diesel $ is the "small price," so"let them take out LA..." seems like he meant it as the alternative to the "small price" of expensive gas. 1/2

My experience is the opposite at least in the AI sphere—people voice many criticisms of AI’s flaws in terms of plagiarism, bias, and stochastic parroting without recognizing those same criticisms apply to large swaths of humanity as well.

Once again: tell me you don’t know how the internet works without telling me you don’t know how the internet works. It is collective and it’s social and it’s “crowdsourced” and that creates coordination without any central planning coordinator. This is Internet 101.

reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
No it really doesn’t.

reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
You’re basically being as honest as if I said “why do you think coordinated is a nasty word” because your post talks about “words mean.” (Get it? Mean is a synonym for nasty and I can define it that way regardless of the context of your post!)

reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Tell me you don’t know how words work without telling me you don’t know how words work. Words have multiple meanings in different contexts. Coordinated in the context of my post means “operating as a unit” and you’re willfully choosing to apply another definition of the word.

Look at the post Stancil is quoting in the skeet that started this thread. At least one of the threatening and abusive posts aimed at Rodericks also name drops Stancil for no particular reason.

Which pretty much exactly describes what happens when a few influencers decide that memetic Stancil hatred is praxis.

reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
It is planned but it does not have a planner. No one person is the central hub; there is no coordinator even though it’s coordinated. One person or group may come up with the idea, but it propagates among social channels organically until a large number of people are on board.

reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Ah yes, when I described the coordination as a “flash mob,” I was *always* intending to say it was the scheming of an evil faceless puppet master, that’s exactly what a flash mob is.
200
reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Words can have multiple meanings, and I think it’s obvious what I meant but I’ll give you benefit of the doubt and assume my post was unclear: I meant coordinated “acting in harmony,” not coordinated “obeying a literal coordinator.”
320
reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Nah. 1) one person disagreeing is not abuse. A coordinated flash mob every time he posts *is* abuse. 2) minor abuse doesn’t stop being abuse just because other groups and individuals are *more* abused. “I could be doing X to you but I’m not” is an excuse of abusers everywhere.

If belief the world will collapse leads you to think your high-value stock-indexed retirement account will never vest, that’s rational. If belief the world will collapse lead you to think inflation is at a historic high, that’s panicky and deluded.

There seems to be a widespread belief on here that the expressed position “trans people should have their GAC covered with the sole exception that some surgical procedures should be performed at 18 rather than 16 or 17” means someone “wants trans people dead” and no, that isn’t what that means

What Will said was that training data could not *entirely* explain biases.
000
reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
So you acknowledge that different algorithms weigh things differently, but nevertheless think it’s impossible for that weighing to ever show bias, and the training set accounts for 100% of any bias LLM’s show?
100
reyemile.bsky.social @reyemile.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
If an AI’s output could be extrapolated entirely from its training data, we wouldn’t have competing AI systems. One AI algorithm would be deterministic. If different AI can produce different results from the same training… then the training set cannot be the *entire* explanation for bias.

They will tell you—universally—“I cannot get pro-trans legislation on the floor past Thune and Johnson.” Now some D’s *might* be so bad this doesn’t matter. Kaptur’s ad probably puts her the wrong side. But overall a Dem win is a Trans win, even if some shithead remoras latch on for the ride.

Pick the most pro-trans progressive liberal politicians you know, the ones you trust most of all to advocate for the trans community. Ask them what they need to effectively defend trans rights. They will tell you—universally—“first we need a D majority.”

That ad is indefensible. The Trans community has an awful choice, balancing fighting against Trumpist bigots with chastising extremist Dems. Your prevarications make it harder for anyone to make that decision in their best interest. Just a week ago, you *insisted*, repeatedly, that... 1/2

But--to use your sawing off the foot example--if your loved one's necrotic foot were black and bleeding and they were dying of blood poisoning, but they refused to let the doctors amputate, at some point you run out of patience and sympathy and just start screaming "Please, keep yourself alive!"

I didn't "bring up" voting. This whole thread is in response to someone including Talarico on a list of Dems where it "might be better" for them to lose. And I try to express sympathy. Believe me I do! Over and over I emphasize that Talarico was wrong, and hurt the trans community.

For those that DO see the practicalities of it, and still cannot bring themselves to swallow their pride and cast a distasteful but lifesaving vote… …well, I’m sad that the tragedies of bigotry have inflicted such damage on them. 4/4

For those who don’t see the practicalities of it, I’m not sure how to make the things any clearer. I’m going in circles with the other guy about majorities and committees so on. But there simply isn’t a plausible case that a protest non-vote for Talarico meaningfully advances trans rights. 3/4
