I was in my early 20s and still finding my way; Kent State and May 4th was something that loomed large in NE Ohio and in the 80s it was still fresh enough to talk to those that were there that day. I was more starstruck than anything else in the moment, but those words stayed with me to this day.

I met Gerry at one of the Kent State May 4th memorials in the late 80s; he was very adamant to me that May 4, 1970 was the beginning of De-Evolution.

Finally got around to listening to the entire set and to say it sounds loose and thrown-together at the last minute is pretty much on the mark. Peter's voice is fine and he's into it when he sings his own songs, but the band sounds like a 70s lounge cover band, which it probably was.
