Inspiration is at hand! Back into book 3 of the Stardust and Ashes series. #amwriting Book 3 is a direct sequel, but all the POV's are women. Given the violence against women and the silencing that continues to happen, I needed them to tell what happened - and have women take power back.

I posted more pics on Insta and Threads, but we had a great time at our Wisconsin Writers Retreat in Waupaca. Next year's dates are Sept 23-26, 2027. We did write, I promise, but we also hung out, hiked, kayaked, napped, and ate cheese.

I've been struggling lately. I took some time off from therapy but had an emergency session last week. I haven't had time to write and what I write just reads like crap. Work has been overwhelming, caregiving has been hard, everything is exhausting. Therapy helped.

Things I was frightened of as a child: The Hulk The Wumpus (anyone else have a Texas Instruments Home Computer with the game Hunt the Wumpus?) The creatures that crawl in your ear from The Wrath of Khan Volcanoes (while also incredibly fascinated by them) Poltergeist (saw the movie way too young).

Today was the first day in about a month I was able to get some new words in. Not a lot, but a start. July was a great writing month for me, but early August some things in life started to pile up. I've had some rough spots with my mental health lately. I'm getting through it now.

Today is National Suicide Prevention Day. I've lost two friends in recent years. After losing my friend David in 2023, I started going to therapy. The last week has been really hard for my mental health. A lot of stress has been piling up and I've hit a wall. I made an appointment with my therapist.
