Space Ghost/Brak Show badge art from Legends Expo at the Rivers Casino in Philadelphia. This and the Dragoncon Godzilla badge were some of my favorites this year. Matthew I.Jenkins is extremely underrated for his extensive contributions to Adult Swim.

Story: I found out about Clay’s passing on Facebook because I kept getting messages from people saying, “I’m so sorry!” and stuff like that. When I finally saw, I was just numb. I had just worked with him a few months before on the last of the new Cartoon Planet 2012 stuff.

Part of my SG collection/ Dragoncon'26 haul. I wanted to buy a Future Quest gag cover(similar to second photo below) from C Martin Croker 10 years ago. Unfortunately, he passed away before any of that could be finished. RIP Mr. Croker. You are deeply missed by a lot of people.

Got the idea to have a bunch of comics creators friends to sign one of my 40th anniversary #dragoncon poster last Monday to have a memento of such a great show. Being the last day, I missed a few friends who had already left but still managed to fill most of the dragon’s eye & the Atlanta skyline :)

Williams Street: Home of "the Lab"
1065 Williams Street looks like a lot of the other warehouses in midtown Atlanta. But instead of housing old phone records or rolls of carpets (one of its previous uses), this squatty brick building serves as the creative well from which several of Adult Swim's weirdest series spring.
The Brak Show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Space Ghost
Coast to Coast are written and produced here. Sealab 2021 is created in a loft nearby.
All these shows air during the 12 midnight-1 a.m. block of Sunday night's Adult Swim, known around Cartoon Network as "the Lab." Each 15-minute episode is a subversive slice of comedy that makes Adult Swim unlike anything else on TV.
Weird and Cheap
These shows share a couple of things: first, a postmodern sensibility that combines sophisticated wordplay with the occasional bodily function gag.
"High-concept to sav the least, all these shows place idiosyncratic characters,
many of them familiar from their earlier incarnations in classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons, in peculiar new situations.
Second, they are all created with a meager budget. While a typical prime time animated series will cost more than $1 million per half-hour, these series cost about $60,000 per 15-minute episode. That means Cartoon Network can get a whole season's worth of Sealab 2021 for the price of just one Sammy or God, the Devil and Bob.
Keeping Overhead Low without Skimping on the Laughs
The Williams Street shows deliver more LPSM (laughs per staff member) than any other programming on TV - broadcast or cable. Each of the four shows has but two writer/producers responsible for the show: Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro on Aqua Teen Hunger Force; Matt Thompson and Adam Reed on Sealab 2021); Pete Smith and Jim Fortier (The Brak Show) and Willis and Maiellaro, pulling double duty, on Space Ghost.
