I've been there before, but it was years ago. Have not been back recently but I have heard it has fallen on hard times.

The pisser is, Hull is no better than Kohan in terms of ownership. They may dress the place up (or down..in reality) but they don't do much more in the way of bringing in business or maintaining upkeep.

Kohan may lose Dearborn's Fairlane Town Center next month, dut to a receivership forced auction. The reason this is bad news? The only interested party is Hull Property Group who is notorious for renovating their properties into bland, carpet lined, walled of husks. www.freep.com/story/money/...

This "United We Stand" message was disovered in the abandoned Foot Locker in Northridge Mall in Milwaukee back in 2018. This was displayed in light of the 9/11 attacks. The store and the mall would be closed, barely a year later, on September 1st, 2002. #mall #abandoned #photography #neverforget

Regardless, the workers trudge on despite the store falling apart around them. While I would hate to see folks lose their jobs over negligence and neglect, long term this is not sustainable. I've seen abandoned stores in better shape...

I have to wonder what the lease situation is, here. This was one of the stores included in the failed leaseback deal from a couple years ago as well when Simon took ownership. This store opened in 1997 with the mall so if I had to guess, a 30 year lease was drawn up which expires next year.

JCPenney at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing has been plagued with roof leaks since a hail storm back in the Spring. The storms yesterday have made an existing problem worse. Even areas that aren't tarped are leaking like a sieve. These employees don't get paid enough to deal with these conditions.

I picked up a directory of Holyoke Mall, sometime from the 80s, in Kingston, NY Here is the current view, taken last Sunday. #thenandnow #malls #architecture #vintage #massachusetts #bringitback
A mall directory for Holyoke Mall, from the 80s. Shown on the cover, is a picture of center court looking down into the basement food court. A large dome skylight is overhead, and G. Fox department store is visible in the background. The present day view of the same spot. G. Fox is long gone, having been replaced with multiple tenants since, the longest serving being Target, on the upper level. The basement food court is still there, but drab and dull after multiple remodels. Architecturally, the remainder of the mall remains the same minus some minor updates and new flooring.
