Yes, that looks like a good pattern for a beginner, as long as you know/learn the magic ring (extremely very useful) and have a stitch marker for working in rounds

Don't even get me started about trees on property lines. My sisters have been in a war with their neighbor recently, I wouldn't be surprised if it escalates to the legal system 😬

My mom's dog (sorry, I'm struggling to find a good picture of her) is our resident neighborhood watch captain. Some of the worst offenses (in her mind) include being a child while happy, walking with a stroller and/or dog, and wearing a red hat (I like that one lol).

I might be pretty peeved if they brought out a bag of chips while I was talking, but I certainly wouldn't doom them without a second thought. I'd ask them to stop and see how they respond.

Taking this as an honest question: I'm not a manager, but I would vary my response depending on their attitude and circumstances. If they bring a yogurt (or other non-smelly, -greasy, -messy food) and let me know why (they have diabetes, are on their actual lunch break, whatever), that's fine.

Yes, it's been a while since I last made minimum wage myself (the kids doesn't either), but it's pretty terrifying that this country just decided some people don't deserve a LIVING wage. Or that they should be forced to work more than 1 40-hr-per-wk job. If they even get 40 hrs/wk from a single job

Renée Spiewak, PhD @respiewak.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Was thinking about minimum wage, for reasons, and the fact that it hasn't gone up in this country since 2010. I remember that last increase and being so excited about earning more money (lol). Now, I work with a kid who is 16 and therefore might be younger than the last increase to MINIMUM WAGE

a brooklyn bodega cat was stolen on Sep 10. residents promptly built a tip network and organized people to check leads day and night. he was successfully recovered today. democrats have spent billions trying to figure out how to make people care this much about anything. should've tried cats.

I like how they explain at the end what questions most strongly point to their answer. The one about bubblers is a given, really
What gave you away

Answers that point most strongly to Wisconsin.
What do you call the thing from which you might drink water in a school?bubbler
Which of these terms do you prefer for a sale of unwanted items on your porch, in your yard, etc.?rummage sale
What term do you use to refer to something that is across both streets from you at an intersection (or diagonally across from you in general)?kitty-corner
Do you say "frosting" or "icing" for the sweet spread one puts on a cake?frosting

Folks, can I recommend something to do this weekend? If you can, go out to a queer bar or club, and watch a drag show. First with Dolly and now Tim, the drag shows this weekend are going to be extremely fun, celebratory and very camp with performers, costumes and numbers dedicated to these two!
