yes absolutely, also you have to factor in the cost of 0-days dropping precipitously alongside sophisticated and relentless attacks becoming the norm as abliterated open-weight models improve in performance on commodity hardware. the floor on attack capabilities is shooting way up real fast.

whatever word you use it’s still an industrial accident - maybe akin to if a virulent microorganism escapes from the lab - the focus should be on the scientists not implementing and enforcing proper controls
