the trainer holds the pokeball so they’re in charge of distributing it to team members…the weapon also becomes registered and only the owner can use it so if its mishandled in any way the trainer has to take responsibility for it.

i was thinking of some way to include pokeballs in verse bc they’re just so iconic & integral in showing the bond between trainer & pkmn…it should still have a storing function of some kind and i personally love the idea of it storing a pkg’s weapon 🤔

For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing

Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

As a captain, I worked at a unit that attracted a high proportion of bad field grades, and we learned how to flush them out by asking technical questions to see if they would respond with confusion (good) or try to deflect with motivation (bad). Hegseth is obviously a deflector.

Hegseth is a great example of a common type of officer who's ended up in charge of something, doesn't have a clue how to do the job, and just falls back on PT, grooming, slogans, and searching for scapegoats. If you put him in charge of a Cinnabon he would do the exact same things.

The essence of an abusive relationship is entrapment. The abuser’s coercive control (in tandem with structural oppression) makes it so their victim *cannot* leave. This is why you DON’T shame victims for “staying,” you give them access to as many resources as you can. To effect the power imbalance.

The people who need to be pressured to leave relationships are abusers, not the victims who they entrap. The main message shouldn’t be “leave relationships that are controlling” (which focuses on a victim’s behavior) but “leave relationships you can’t maintain without being controlling.”
