It is hideous how the algo advantages the Worst People You Know. It loves outrage. Therefore, it loves people who have no compunction about doing awful things that make everyone rightfully mad. The only thing I can think to do is try to not interact with anything related to them.

I do not understand why so much online writing advice boils down to, "Do not use vast swaths of words." Don't use $5 words Don't use adverbs Don't use anything other than said as a dialogue tag Isn't the whole reason we do this because words are fun? Why would I restrict myself?

Not only is GenAI environmentally disastrous, largely useless for the things it's most often deployed to do, and flogged with aggravating ubiquity, it's also a petulant little baby that can't take criticism or a hint.
