Breathing. It's important. So @greenparty.org.uk would introduce a new Clean Air (Human Rights) Act, giving everyone the right to breathe clean air.

On this day in 1962, Rachel Carson's Silent Spring was published, kickstarting the modern environmental movement and enraging polluters. It eventually led to the pesticide DDT being banned and to Richard Nixon’s creation of the Environment Protection Agency which lasted until Trump destroyed it.

The privatization of water, rail and energy firms has cost the British public dearly. @greenparty.org.uk would bring these utilities back into public hands. Essential services run for people rather than shareholders. It used to be normal; it can be again.

Margaret Thatcher's Right to Buy scheme saw over two million council homes leak into the private sector. Scotland and Wales have already put a stop to this. @greenparty.org.uk would do the same in England, as well as building 150,000 new social homes a year.

The word "scientist" was coined in 1834 to describe Mary Somerville. As a woman, she was denied schooling so taught herself algebra by candlelight. Cambridge taught from her books before women were allowed to attend. Later, Oxford named a women’s college after her.

Even OilPrice.com are saying it, so you know it must be true.
Oilprice.com: Solar Has Crossed a Critical Economic Tipping Point

By Leon Stille - Aug 29, 2026, 4:00 PM CDT

	•	Solar now requires no more upfront capital than coal or gas to produce the same annual electricity, reversing a disadvantage that was as large as five-to-one a decade ago.
	•	Batteries and wider grid flexibility still add real system costs, but firm solar-plus-storage is already competitive with new fossil generation in favourable markets.
	•	For capital-constrained emerging economies, solar no longer means paying more today to save money tomorrow. Increasingly, it is the cheaper entry ticket as well.

“Elon Musk spent $290 MILLION to elect Trump. Now he wants to spend $200 MILLION to buy a Senate seat in Texas and keep Republicans in control of Congress.

That’s not democracy. That’s oligarchy.

End Citizens United. Ban super PACs. Get billionaires—from both parties—OUT OF ELECTIONS!”
