I’m only a few hours in but even within the first hour, the gameplay immediately shows it’s a step up right from the get go with the matchstick/twists on metroidvania mechanics Also, this is his best art full stop. Same whacky designs, incredible environmental detail, lighting & color work

#21: Astral Ascent I first reviewed this almost 3 years ago. It went free on Epic recently, and a few mutuals were speaking about it, so I figured I would revisit it to see what's changed. Well, now I have a shiny new Platinum trophy. I highly recommended it back then and recommend it again now.

After I finished Saros, I found out it drew inspiration from The King in Yellow by Robert Chambers. Now that I've read that (it's a trip for anyone interested), I've discovered SIGNALIS also was inspired by the short stories. I guess I know what is going on the wishlist. I love things like this.

#17: Final Fantasy 1 (Pixel Remastered) One friend kept reminding me I bought XVI and didn't play. Another kept bugging me to play FF7. Well, I am starting from the beginning. Platinum done and on to the next. Also, screw the warmech's spawn rate. I earned 28 levels before it appeared.

#16: Destiny 2 I had to jump back in with the "final" patch. Despite how overwhelming it is (I mean, there is a ton of stuff to do depending how long ago you stopped), I managed to get the Platinum. I have always enjoyed the game every revisit so it sucks that this will be the last time.

#13: Kingdom Rush Frontiers This one has been almost 10 years in the making. The first achievement was on July 25, 2016. Tower defense games are always something I enjoy in small doses. I started again in March and started chipping away at the remaining achievements. On to the next KR game!
