I was frightened of the full-length curtain in front of a cupboard at the bottom of my nan’s stairs, thanks to a trailer for a Hammer horror with a werewolf snarling behind a curtain. Curtains were a big thing for me!

We once stopped overnight on a long drive through Germany and the museum was open at night, I think until midnight. It was very exciting to look around it outside of normal hours and it was very busy!

This is horrifying and deeply tragic for the people of Nepal. It’s even more terrible, given that it’s the result of human-made climate change. We’ve been watching a global catastrophe unfold for decades, while we ‘debate’ the science!

The fallout from the collapse of this glacier - a torrent of mud surging down the valley - killed hundreds of people. Gone, in a flash. Those people were wiped out by anthropogenic climate change. Our governments are simply not responding quickly enough to this disaster which is already upon us.

I hate it when I introduce myself as Rebecca and the other person immediately starts calling me Becky! WTF? On the other hand, my lovely neighbour (in her 70s) has a granddaughter called Becky, so it doesn’t bother me when she calls me that, because it’s understandable.

So true! Mind you, I never saw The Breakfast Club in the 80s, watched it a couple of years ago and it doesn’t really match up to the reviews of my fellow Gen Xers! Very toxic behaviour, sold as a love story! ‘It was a different time’ as they say.

The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy. It’s a phenomenal book! The characters and story are enormously interesting and I’ve learned a lot about India along the way.
