Three days left on our crowd fundraiser for Second Date, my debut feature film, shooting in Sydney this October. Every donation helps us make a better version of the film! artists.australianculturalfund.org.au/s/project/a2...

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us take another step towards production. If you’re able to support the project, or simply share it with others, it would mean a great deal. Thank you for helping independent Australian horror cinema thrive. 🎬🖤

Independent filmmaking is only possible because of people who believe in original stories and the communities that help bring them to life.

Hey! I’m currently raising funds for Second Date, my independent micro-budget dark comedy/horror film through the Australian Cultural Fund. It’s the story of a woman who is tricked into a first date with her incel stalker, only to find herself trapped in a supernatural Groundhog Day-esque time loop.

Imagine if a woman president crashed the economy and started a war with no end in sight, and her biggest, seemingly ONLY concern was building a ballroom and redecorating the White House.

Because the truth is, tech doesn't have an image problem. It doesn't have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What's wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn't successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What's wrong is that he's trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that's designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn't that you haven't told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.

By the way, if you're curious how the horror community feels watching these movies clean up at the box office: we're fucking elated. In horror, rising tides raises all boats. We're all rooting for each other. After the lean box office of last fall, this spring has been refreshing and exciting.

We should reconsider the term „energy crisis“ when speaking about the effects of the Iran war. This is very specifically a crisis of fossil fuels and their single point of failure. Fossil fuels are no longer synonymous with „energy“. We have other, better options.
