LAVENDER TOWN

You tell me a spell to get the ghosts
off my back. It works for a while.

Every laundromat in town is hidden
by signs that say closed, moved, new

location. To be warm and clean and
have time for song is a big secret.

Be careful / not to look at it too long.

Working in and for NDN Country is hard and devastating in the best and worst ways. You have to be in it for the people, you have to love the people for ALL of who they were, who they are and who they can and dream to be.
Screenshot of a page in a book that read:

"But I choose to love you like an Indian
Because desperate love runs deep in our veins And they understand that.
Even if they don't understand us
This is home
And they respect our love
And our willingness to die for our love
Like our ancestors before us
Where the warriors set up war camps far away from the village so
that the carnage never
Touches the family
And they could die alone if there was dying to be done.
But the community could go on.
And as long as they understand that
We'll never have to worry."

RABBLE REVIEW No.9
Multiple wars rage on, at least two genocides are happening, and fascist governments are consolidating their hold on a global population evermore on edge. These pages bear a deep seated fear, frustration, and uncertainty, that are in direct conversation with that reality. There’s an immediacy here that feels new. The clock isn’t just ticking anymore. The bell tolls as we tumble towards something—and we are all bracing ourselves for what it might be.\n\nThe work in RABBLE REVIEW No.9 reflects on the new horrors and indignities that have become normalized, as well as the quiet bits of joy and rebellion we have adopted in the face of unprecedented suffering.\n\nWe are proud to present RABBLE REVIEW No.9. Join us as we make sense of our current reality and fight towards something better.\n\nSolidarity will see us through.
