Got me a new Digital Audio Player so I can listen to music properly and without any interruptions (it's a FiiO JM21 which is rather like a modern version of the iPod Touch) #DigitalAudioPlayer #DAP #FiiOJM21

The restored Season 7 looks fab on Blu-ray and I loved your bits on ‘Behind the Sofa’ with Geoffrey Beevers and Daisy Ashford xx

I don’t think there was an 80s ‘Running Through Corridors’ book, sadly

I am really enjoying watching season 7 of ‘Doctor Who’ (first broadcast in 1970) with Jon Pertwee as the Doctor & Caroline John as Liz Shaw. So I have decided to keep going through the other seasons! #DoctorWho #ClassicDoctorWho #DrWho #JonPertwee #DoctorWhoTheCollection #season7

Random eejits get everywhere!! PS My favourite new track Tidal told me about today is 'Maria Carey Through Death Valley' by Blossoms.

I also like buying music directly from artists, especially when I have opportunities to purchase stuff at gigs. I also use indies and Bandcamp. Usually buy CDs rather than vinyl, partly due to cost but mostly due to lack of storage space!

Enjoy your out of office time. PS This version of the Tardis always makes me think of custard creams 😋

I use Tidal too. It's mostly awesome and I really like being able to check full credits of the singers, songwriters, musicians and producers.

I'm patiently waiting in the hope that they will release a box set of seasons one and two plus the finale. I prefer to buy all my shiny discs from HMV (or second hand)

Ruthy J @reallyruthy.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

Even free trials can be dangerous cos they won't let you sign up without giving payment details and then it's quite hard to avoid paying once the free trial has ended. I got suckered into a free trial of amazon music when I bought new earbuds and then had to persuade my bank to cancel payment!

I found it hard to resist watching Good Omens on prime, but I'm hoping this will become available on shiny discs for me to watch at some point, even if that means some dosh ends up in disreputable pockets...

Never actually had prime so the auto renewal never got me. Used to have audible but I cancelled when it became part of Amazon. Also stopped using Goodreads and now use TheStoryGraph. AWS is hardest to avoid completely because it has tentacles everywhere…

Thanks for reminding me to be more vocal about the #AmazonBoycott - I said lots about this in the past but it seems to be worth trying to encourage more people to join in now

I have been avoiding Amazon since 2013 and started buying my ebooks through Kobo not long after that. Rakuten Kobo is also a big company but they still seem preferable to Amazon and they are often slightly cheaper as well.
