One greeting from @goldengateblond.bsky.social and I awoke to 30 new followers. Haven't been this excited since I was chosen by Edwige to enter the Starck Club.

I heard a full-throated harrumph this morning from another gray-haired dude across the street. The younger people in his family had lost interest in his advice. When he looked at me for agreement I was like no man I'm only here until my dog poops.

Lanterns is sometimes flawed but it's still one of the most interesting takes on DC/Marvel superheroes in forever. And Guy Gardner's drop-in was hilarious.

It seems like Matt Mullenweg is trying to win litigation on Twitter and man is that a bad idea. When your company is paying lawyers $15 million a year, let them do all the talking. Don't be the guy who bought a Bathroom Monkey but still cleans his own bathroom.

My lifelong DC nerdery isn't stopping me from liking Lanterns. The two leads are perfectly cast, the John Stewart origin episode was incredible and I enjoy Kelly Macdonald's too-old-for-this-shit American accent.

Ian became a cautionary tale in framing something provocatively to get attention and not liking the attention he got. Think piece writers will tell each other of his sad fate in furtive whispers. And think pieces.

Big fan of Mad Men, but I feel like an idealized version of what the womanizing, office-boozing, sexually harassing 1960s male got away with is not a helpful guide to modern masculinity.
