That also extends to anyone who platforms said performers (e.g., directors who happily work with certain actors and vice versa; hosts of shows who have certain performers as guests or contestants). Again, it sucks, b/c either those folks are irresponsibly clueless, or in the know & complicity, IMO.

Knowing that, combined w/the queasy feeling of unavoidably thinking about what they've done--sometimes directly contradicting the beliefs of a character they play, in certain truly awful cases--makes "separating art and artist" impossible for me. There'll always some other piece of art to enjoy.

It's depressing your capable of ignoring the countless lives impacted (often destroyed) by these people, just so you can find comfort in a movie you like or a song you enjoyed. Someone out there is living with lifelong agony that I assume is compounded every time they see or hear that same art.

That's not a flex. It honestly sucks to do. I simply can't "separate art from the artist," though. The very idea repulses me. And it's been brutal this last year, as I no longer watch 3 of what were once some of my favorite shows b/c of it.

- Some have complained about Jon Watts' visual style in the 3 Spider-Man films he directed. I'm neutral on that, but I will say he knows how to get excellent performances out of his casts, and know how to juggle complex storylines effectively. So yeah, I'm good with him as a pick.

Pet peeve: when someone repeats a letter in a word to emphasize it BUT they emphasize the wrong letter relative to what you'd actually say (or imagine saying) out loud. To wit: Right way: "Those sandwiches were huuuuuuuge!" Wrong way: "Those sandwiches were hugeeeeeeeee!"

When I hear celebrities gushing about Tom Cruise, I can't decide if they're really blind to all his Scientology nefarious & BTS behavior, know about it and are fine with it, or are somehow obligated (either contractually or through some threat) to speak well of him. How many do that? Way too many.

I'm fine if you state you *won't discuss politics* on your show. That's fine. But to take it a step further with the unforced error of stating that you personally "don't take sides," "don't pay attention to politics," etc. ironically ends up alienating half your audience as you try to keep it all
