Trying to speed heal a nasty burn I got uh... 2 Saturdays ago before my debut as Thief King Bakura this weekend. It's almost done healing but it's in the 'really painful, sensitive, snags on everything' scab phase. I've been smothering it in neosporin and slapping a bandaid on it over night.

Made a lot of progress today setting up my new place. All the boxes are practically gone, the rooms are all walkable, all the closet spaces are open again, Table/counter space is slowly reappearing. Next on the agenda is wall decorating.

Since yesterday my sides/abs have hurt so bad. I did not injure myself but instead we've been upping my core routine with a step up in more vigorous exercises. It doesn't hurt to breath but man when I see a funny video, gods it hurts! 🤣 It's a good pain though! Progress!

Oh yeah, it's all coming together! Likely going to sew hidden hooks (or snare) into the robe to allow the chain to sit wide like it is on the hanger. As you can see on me it hangs low. I don't want to use pins as raising the hood would reveal them and I do want to be able to remove the robe easy.

I purposefully did not tie the ends off as I wanted to thread the ends through each end sequence bead and once more through the brown bead so I could tie a few knots into the bead hole itself to hide the knot. I used a variant of the technique for Bakura's bracelets.

Waited an hour to harvest the nuggets then I did the same with the spheres. And viola! We go from brown to goooooold! It was then time to rethread the strand and the full chain came into spectacular golden view!

Once the mock up was complete I stripped the cord and got to coloring! I was running into the issue of smudging the paint so being a model kit builder/enthusiast I decided to reverse use my alligator clips for spray painting plastic. Worked like a charm!

WE ARE BACK! With #ThiefkingBakura 's neck chain. I cut a 45 in (1.14 meter) cord that I will only be using 37-38 in (0.93-0.96 meters) of and separated all my beads and got to work making a mock up of the whole thing. I intentionally used more beads than necessary and will remove some.

Need to double/triple layer it cause it's quite thin and if I have enough material left over I'll cover the straps as well. I'll also be using elastic inside to make sure it stays snug.
