Cycle to school week is imminent. As a parent who already cycles the sprog to school, I hope that week involves less cars overtaking too close, opening doors on me, overtaking on a blind bend and adults crossing the road without looking. Unfortunately all 4 happened to me TODAY.

Vibe coding replaces the interesting bit - writing code to solve a problem - and replaces it with the boring bit - reviewing someone else's code to see if they've done it right. It's a shit swap.

Superdry is both the name of a clothing store and the effect their clothes have on the partners of middle-aged men who insist on shopping there.

Never been to a dedicated EV service station before. Clean, calm, well organised. Probably won’t last once EVs become more the norm.

A seemingly random farm with a shop and a café with beefy chargers in Norfolk. Not a bad place to find yourself needing to top up ☕️⚡️🐄

The Mail are attacking someone for a 'man of the people' act and somehow it isn't the privately educated city trader who became a career politician and receives £5 million gifts and £2m in side hussles, but likes to pose with pints of beer he never drinks.

Let’s start the countdown again. Cables replaced in Mackworth, how long until the drooling knuckle draggers return to Nick the cables? I think last time it was 9 days?

The charger cables in Mackworth, Derby have been replaced yesterday by BP Pulse after having the cables cut by knuckle dragging, mouth breathers. How long will they stay this time? Got to beat the record of 4 weeks…

The summer of effectively free electricity, heating and car fuel is over and we’re now deep into the (at present) -4°c winter. Happy to report we’re still toasty warm inside. I’m collating the data for cost saving over the year.

I hate it when my kids buy me something with 'World's Best Dad' on it. Because it's so blatantly not true, and makes me realise what a failure of a father I've been.

Today I Vibe Coded for the first time in Go. Yes I’m ashamed, but I was in a rush, the company pays for GitHub copilot and it was a simple problem I just didn’t have head space to solve myself. The code works, it’s an internal utility, harmless right? 😅

ECHR offers protection against unfair dismissal from work, protects pension rights, maternity leave rights and protects women getting divorced. People who think it's a good idea to leave should be ridiculed like flat-earthers. The ignorance is astounding.

Pre-ECHR, rights were almost completely at the whims of the current parliament - which doesn't always represent public majority. The Bill of Rights of 1689 could be very easily abolished by parliamentary majority. The ECHR created a set of rights that have an external guarantor. That's the point.

Leaving the ECHR won’t “Take Back Control” – it will hand your rights to politicians
The myths are seductive, the reality is very different – without the ECHR your freedoms rest on whichever Home Secretary wakes up grumpy

47 people were injured in Liverpool. Four of them were children. And the far-right’s first instinct? Blame brown people. When the facts didn’t fit, they pivoted - because outrage is the point. On narrative control, culture wars, and what this tells us about the populist playbook:

What the Liverpool Attack Tells Us About the New Culture War
The populist right's response wasn’t about victims - it was about narrative control. And it’s becoming their only move.

Age of Empires II and its expansion - The Conquerors - was peak perfection when it comes to real-time strategy games. After Microsoft made the dumb decision to shut down Ensemble Studios, the franchise went completely downhill from there. AOE2-style games need to make a comeback.

I was already a bit of an AI sceptic, used correctly I appreciate it can be revolutionary but I’ve always been concerned about its misuse. I too often see it as an excuse to stop thinking (eg. “Vibe coding”) but the potential impact under capitalism is terrifying. youtu.be/ChX_ms5Nhm0?...
