Messaged a radio station group to ask of they could reduce the amount of times they play a track from a particular series of films due to the authors well known stance and views. Will wait for a response to see whether I need to find a new radio station for wfh background noise.

I've made lots of clothes for my child, both knitted and sewn. I passed them onto my sister, who has 2 slightly younger children. Am I unusual for making clothes for my child then giving them away? My sister thought I kept the important stuff so she never gave me anything back. #Knitting #Sewing

Sewing with no plan is rubbish! Finally decided to sewing the Tilly and the Buttons Frankie t-shirt from the Stretch book. Firstly picked an overly slinky fabric which took over an hour of fuzzing to decide it wouldn't work. Then a lovely stable Jersey which I didn't have enough of.

It's my first Sewing Saturday for about 18 months! Tracing off a nice easy t shirt, this pencil seems appropriate to use!

Looks like I may be able to trial my new sewing setup this weekend, so do I go for the simple (Maria Denmark Brigitte tee) or the very complicated (almost anything I want to make for cosplay purposes)? I ought to make the simple tee because it will test everything without a critical issue.

In the process of rearranging where and how my sewing is done and laid out so that there is less space sharing which should enable more spontaneity, we are about to enter the phase of "oh this is so much worse" and I need to remember it will get better and sewing can be done again, eventually!

Today's #ShowMeYourKnits is Amber and gold, a nice autumnal combination. I think I can just about squeeze my current WIP into that theme as it is my Dr Who which has yellows and oranges!

Road trip to take grown up child to uni. I historically sit in the front due to car sickness (yes sometimes your pukey child does not grow out of it) but grown up child is navigating so I am in the back. Let's hope for a smooth journey!

Now it's cooler, I'm knitting again. While reading on my kindle I can work on my plain socks:) I forgot how lovely the gradient stripes are on this yarn, and I may need to get some more!

Mentioned to my colleague that I was planning on taking my parents to the Escher exhibition. She asked who Escher was, and I said "MC Escher? He's a graphic artist and you must have seen his stuff" and she went "MC Escher, sounds like a DJ" which put a whole different image in my head!

Today's #ShowMeYourKnits theme is stripes. My Dr Who scarf wip definitely counts, even if I'm only on my second stripe!

Temperatures have now provisionally exceeded 37°C 🌡️ Before 2026, the UK had recorded 37°C or higher on only six occasions. This year alone, we've already reached that mark three times.

Had a nice social time with some of the neighbours from my block of flats "watching the eclipse" or rather talking to each other. Not sure how much eclipse we actually saw, but the sky got dark, birds stopped tweeting, and there was no significant change in temperature!
