At least Burnham doesn’t pretend to care about growth
Unlike his predecessors, Britain’s prime minister is a fairly honest stagnation-ist

Now, what is interestin’ to me is you have two parties who know war will be devastating to them—and yet neither is willin’ to divulge the private information that would allow them to reach a negotiated agreement. Isn’t that puzzlin’?

A 94-year-old Jewish human rights barrister was among more than 80 people arrested outside the Labour Party conference in Liverpool while demonstrating in support of Palestine Action. The arrests came as Ed Miliband told critics of the government’s policy on Palestine: “We hear you. You were right"

Big news from Labour Conference: the PM has announced the government's plan to scrap first past the post. Seats that match votes would change British politics for good, but only if it happens. I've added my name. Join me? action.electoral-reform.org.uk/page/201578/...

The PM used his big speech to promise to fix Westminster's broken voting system.
We've heard promises before. I've signed to make sure this one is kept. It takes 30 seconds

(3)Streeting et al have acquiesced in Burnham's victory because their plan - lying Starmer into office- collapsed in ignominy and they realised they could not beat Burnham in a public fight because they are unlovable. But they have kept powerful roles and may (will imo) go for undermining instead

It's HBM 3, you stack the memory on top of each other.
A presentation slide titled "AMD Instinct™ MI350 Series GPU: State-of-the-Art Construction" featuring an exploded 3D diagram of the processor and its key specifications. A bulleted list on the left highlights the general features: 185 Billion transistors, 3D Multi-Chiplet design (2 chiplet types + HBM3E), heterogenous process technologies, proven COWOS-S packaging technology, and up to 1,400 watts Total Board Power (TBP). Callouts pointing to specific layers of the 3D chip diagram detail its components:Accelerator Complex Die (XCD): Located on the top layer, utilizing the latest TSMC 3nm (N3P) technology for compute performance-per-watt optimization, with a maximum of 8 per package (Max 4 per IOD). AMD I/O Base Die (IOD): Located on the middle layer, utilizing TSMC 6nm FinFET (N6) technology for optimal yield and cost, with a maximum of 2 per package. HBM3E: Memory stacks adjacent to the dies, offering up to 288 GB of memory with a maximum of 4 stacks per IOD (Max 8 per package). Additional Labels: Point to the base "Package" and the "AMD Infinity Fabric™ AP Interconnect" at the bottom. The footer notes the slide is for the "4TH GEN AMD CDNA™ GENERATIVE AI ARCHITECTURE POWERING AMD INSTINCT™ MI350 SERIES GPUS AND PLATFORMS | AUGUST 2025" and includes the AMD logo.

If you define the centre as the far right, then there's no far right problem in Europe. The more likely conclusion is unthinkable: that centrists like Rachman have actually radicalised into the far right.
The Italian left points to Meloni’s harsher policies on immigration and asylum as indications that she retains far-right instincts. But almost all European governments are now searching for ways to limit the flow of asylum seekers. This is a response to growing voter unease — so arguably an expression of democracy rather than its negation.

Le Pen has been moderating her party’s image for many years — shedding many of its more extreme policies and associations. In the process, she has broken with her own father, the founder of the party, and ditched plans to leave the European single currency.

It’s not a panacea, but the fascists are getting 20-25% of the vote & aren’t dominating politics in multiparty systems. Also, Americans love to point to 🇮🇱 & 🇬🇧, which are two of the worst-designed parliamentary systems. Anyway, more & stronger parties are absolutely a bulwark against fascism.
