Dryer won't heat anymore. We have a spare dryer in the garage but it's electric and the previous one was gas only. Had electrician friend come by and check; the outlet was wired for 240 but split into 2 120s. Change to 1x 240. Moved the spare dryer into the laundry room. Washer smells a bit moldy...

The US has at least 29 states/territories with COVlD outbreaks. These include much of Hawai’i, Alaska, Washington, California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Guam, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maine.
There are likely outbreaks in additional states. The summary statistic of 29 only includes counties with observed data, rather than estimated data. All of the data in Oregon are at least a week old, and while we do not count the state among the 29, we estimate there are likely outbreaks there as well, given proximity to WA, CA, and NV. Levels in some Texas counties are so high – on par with the national peak of BA.1 Omicron – that it drives up estimates for counties in neighboring states that lack CDC wastewater monitoring systems. Looking closely at the map, notice other instances of Very High counties in one state driving up estimates of an adjacent county in a neighboring state that lacks data. This shows a clear value of the county-level map over the CDC state map. The CDC applies the median level to the entire state. The PMC map recognizes that state boundaries are somewhat artificial with regard to the spread of infectious disease and instead offers localized estimates for counties that lack data based on what is happening in their region.

it was labeled mis-shipped by USPS internal tracking and confirmed by local post office. Package was shipped from Washington to Oregon. The only tracking update I received was Processing at USPS facility in Danville, CA. It never finished processing. There are no updates since.

We ended up getting our own room off the con block but it added another 40-50 yards of walking. In other years, it would've worked better but the heat was unbearable. My roommate tried to suit, but turned around from heat exhaustion. I'm happy to have met the folks I was able to briefly at least.

I only went for half a day of AWU'26, but I'm really disappointed in it this year. This will be the last year I reg as alpha. I was entitled to an early hotel reservation that just didn't happen. On top of that, there were a ton of little things that went wrong and it's feeling too crowded.

I seem to be doomed to have AC problems wherever I move to. Couple of weeks ago, it was really cold in my room with the AC running. Last night, 90 degrees F and the AC just wasn't doing shit. I'm getting headaches from the heat. Probably a good day to check out a movie.
