Men, I promise you, you don't need to, in any way, try and defend someone who literally admitted to sexual assault. Just don't do it. Don't even think about it.

'Afterthought' is putting it mildly. In my experience, cybersecurity is either not present, or it is done after the fact without regard for any existing processes, a box-ticking exercise that succeeds in nothing except adding huge amounts of friction to everyday work.

That is an amazing thing to find in Michigan of all places. This is a pic of a different builder's plate from the same factory I took a few years ago. On a formerly East German BR120 diesel locomotive, also known as M62.
A blue, diamond-shaped locomotive builder's plate with Russian text. The plate is attached to a dark red locomotive with a yellow stripe.

Considering how bad Rokus and other streaming boxes have become, it seems like the Apple TV is the least worst option. I have a Toshiba TV and while that still runs stock GoogleTV, I don't let it access the network, and all my SmartTV needs are handled by the Apple TV.

Seeing so many people using AI to "put their models in scene" and pretty up their layout. I want to see your layout, with its perfections and imperfections, not something that a machine dreamed up which I can recognise as not being real from a mile away.

I've gone from NCE to Z21 clone to ESU, and the ECoS is hands down the best out of the three. You couldn't pay me enough to use NCE ever again, not with the antiquated user interface, the innate restrictions and lack of compatibility.

Who said you need to use a phone? Nearly every Euro system has a dedicated cab available, even the stationary ones like ESU or Uhlenbrock. All tech evolves, even model trains. NCE isn't evolving at all, they engineered their system once and then decided that'll do them for the next century.

Plenty of companies out there with both top-notch customer service *and* more modern systems. If you want anything beyond pure manual control, the NCE ecosystem lags behind everything else in the market, including more recent developments in DCC itself. No wonder since it's nearly 20 years old.

I will never understand why, in 2026, people will still both choose the NCE PowerCab, and recommend it to newbies. It's terribly outdated and underpowered, and it's also just not very good. I chose the ECoS over the Z21 but I will take almost anything else over the PowerCab.

This absolutely baffles me. Do the people who commission this 'art' for advertising really think it looks attractive and appetising, or have they at that point simply spent their ad budget on AI prompts and now have to make do with the least worst they got?

"I have hired someone, told them the plan, and then told them a different plan, and then a third. There is a number of times you can do that to somebody before they stop believing anything you say, and it is lower than you would like." Very true, and also applies to general software development.

This concept was introduced to me as "run the dishwasher twice" and was an important part of my executive functioning recovery as well as my path to self-acceptance.
When I was at one of my lowest (mental) points in life, I couldn't get out of bed some days. I had no energy or motivation and was barely getting by.

I had therapy once per week, and on this particular week I didn't have much to 'bring' to the session. He asked how my week was and I really had nothing to say.

'What are you struggling with?' he asked.

I gestured around me and said 'I dunno man. Life.'

Not satisfied with my answer, he said 'No, what exactly are you worried about right now? What feels overwhelming? When you go home after this session, what issue will be staring at you?'

I knew the answer, but it was so ridiculous that I didn't want to say it. I wanted to have something more substantial.
Something more profound.

But I didn't.

So I told him, 'Honestly? The dishes. It's stupid, I know, but the more I look at them the more I CAN'T do them because I'll have to scrub them before I put them in the dishwasher, because the dishwasher sucks, and I just can't stand and scrub the dishes.'

I felt like an idiot even saying it.

What kind of grown ass woman is undone by a stack of dishes? There are people out there with *actual* problems, and I'm whining to my therapist about dishes?

But he nodded in understanding and then said:

'RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE.'I began to tell him that you're not supposed to, but he stopped me.

'Why the hell aren't you supposed to? If you don't want to scrub the dishes and your dishwasher sucks, run it twice. Run it three times, who cares?! Rules do not exist.'

It blew my mind in a way that I don't think I can properly express.

That day, I went home and tossed my smelly dishes haphazardly into the dishwasher and ran it three times.

I felt like I had conquered a dragon.

The next day, I took a shower lying down.

A few days later. I folded my laundry and put them wherever the fuck they fit.

There were no longer arbitrary rules I had to follow, and it gave me the freedom to make accomplishments again.

Now that I'm in a healthier place, I rinse off my dishes and put them in the dishwasher properly. I shower standing up. I sort my laundry.

But at a time when living was a struggle instead of a blessing, I learned an incredibly important lesson:

THERE ARE NO RULES. RUN THE DISHWASHER TWICE!!!"

Do these bear any resemblance to the old Sierra S.W.A.T. games? I'm thinking specifically S.W.A.T. 4 which I'd happily load up again if the engine weren't giving me motion sickness. But I've been looking for something along similar lines, with an emphasis on shooting/killing as little as possible.
