In 2001 I was late to my closest friend's funeral, because I was using printed Mapquest directions and the turnoff halfway there was confusing enough that I went the wrong way for quite some time. Before Mapquest, you had to know how to get there, and how to find yourself when you were lost.

I'm not certain but I think it was Cap's post-Civil War death where the characters *in-universe* were discussing when he'd be back. That was the moment of total disconnect for me.

I have gotten a lot of LC the last year or so because a large, decent $7 pizza my kids can eat fifteen minutes from now was a lot more convenient than a small $11 Digiorno that required me to pre-purchase it and bake it in an oven I actually remembered to preheat.

I mean, the segregated restrooms were a misogynistic response to women entering the workforce. Men kicked women out of what were, at the time, the only restrooms in the building, saying they were just for men. We then had to establish in law that equal access was required and build more bathrooms.

You know the first thing I did after signing the divorce settlement? I cleaned out my car. The moment I had everything I needed to stop worrying, I felt a rush of executive functioning capacity. It's as if most of my mental energy from the last sixteen years had been spent on salvaging her chaos.

The divorce settlement is signed. It ended with her astonishingly capitulative on everything I actually gave a damn about: from removal of her control, to boundaries and rules between us, to which items I'm keeping. This is everything I needed: a deal I couldn't dream of fully achieving at trial.

"Reactive abuse" describes a victim's response when an abuser's actions are so far beyond the pale that a victim can no longer be civil or passive about it. It's framed as either "the real abuse" or "both sides" by an abuser. However, it's a gesture of self-defense in an imbalanced power structure.

Superman confronts Homelander, placing a very large hand on Homelander's head to pin him in place, and Clark shoots his heat vision, with the left eye beam striking Homelander's left eye, and the right to the right. (This is a spoiler for the mistake.)

Brain: So, you really liked that "Petra Parker" trans Spider-man meme, huh?
Me: Yes, there's a lot of things about Peter Parker's life that just click with transition.
Brain: Is it the media figures making you into a villain through baseless lies they spew for personal gain? Is it half the country despising you despite knowing nothing about you?
Brain [continuing as I panic]: Is it the need to keep part of who you are secret for safety? Is it the way your support network collapsed to a few people who love you unconditionally? Is it the feeling you'll never do enough or be enough? Is it the big stressful life-disrupting thing you're doing that is technically a choice, but you don't know how to live with yourself if you don't do it?

On a lark, during my AI college course, I posed a question to a local LLM with "think" revealed. The results made it clear that it merely uses the *linguistic* structure of thinking, with zero consciousness. It constantly talked itself out of the correct answer by hallucinating reasons it was wrong.
Me: A man wrote three words on a glass board, but it suddenly fell and shattered into numerous pieces.
Here are some of the pieces with letters on them:
NBOAC
KAUCCPE
OLEV
Each of these groups of letters forms a word. Can you find out what the words are and find the odd one out?
AI: <think> Okay, so I have this problem where a man wrote three words on a glass board, but it fell and
shattered into pieces. The pieces given are NBOAC, KAUCCPE, and OLEV. Each of these groups forms a word,
and I need to figure out what the words are and then determine which one is the odd one out.
First, I'll take each fragment individually and try to rearrange or see if they can form meaningful English words.Starting with NBOAC: The letters here are N, B, O, A, C. Let me think of possible combinations. If I reorder them,
maybe "Bacon"? That would make sense because bacon is a common word. Let me check the letters: B-A-C-ON, yes, that's correct. So NBOAC can be rearranged to form "bacon".
Next, KAUCCPE: The letters are K, A, U, C, C, P, E. That's seven letters. I need to see if these can make a word. Let
me try to think of words that have two Cs. Maybe "cuckoo"? Wait, cuckoo is C-U-C-K-O-O, but here we have an
extra P. Hmm, maybe "coupe"? But that's only five letters. Alternatively, could it be "cupcake"? That has a C, U,
P, K, A, C, E. Let me count the letters: C, U, P, K, A, C, E – yes, that's seven letters. So rearranged, KAUCCPE can
form "cupcake".
Finally, OLEV: The letters are O, L, E, V. That looks like it could be "elve", but that's not a common word.
Alternatively, maybe "levo"? That doesn't ring a bell either. Wait, perhaps it's "olev" – but I'm not sure if that's
a real word. Maybe I'm missing something here. Let me think again. O, L, E, V... Oh, wait, "eolov"? No, that's
not right. Alternatively, could it be an abbreviation? Hmm, maybe not. Wait, perhaps the letters can form
"love" but that would require a D instead of another letter. So I'm stuck here.Wait, maybe OLEV is part of a larger word. Let me see: if I add an 'o' at the beginning, making it "olove", which
doesn't make sense. Or perhaps it's a misspelling or a fragment? Alternatively, could it be
"levo" as in a type of drug? I'm not sure.
Wait, maybe I should consider other possibilities for OLEV. Let me check the letters again: O, L, E, V. Maybe
"eolov"? No, that doesn't seem right. Alternatively, could it be an Italian word? Hmm,
perhaps it's a typo or I'm missing something.
But wait, let's think of other words with these letters. OLEV... Maybe "elv" is part of it, but that's not enough.
Alternatively, maybe it's the end of the word. Wait, could it be "loved"? No, because we don't have a 'd'. Hmm.
Wait, perhaps I made a mistake. Let me double-check:
NBOAC: B-A-C-O-N is bacon, correct.
KAUCCPE: C-U-P-K-A-C-E is cupcake, correct.
OLEV: O-L-E-V... Maybe it's "elov", but that's not a word I know. Alternatively, could it be rearranged as "love"?
But we need an 'o' and a 'v', so OLEV has O, L, E, V – yes, that is "love" without the 'O' at the end? Wait no,
"love" is L-O-V-E, which would require an extra 'O'. So I'm stuck again.
Wait, perhaps it's not a complete word on its own but part of a larger word. But the problem states each group
forms a word, so OLEV must form a word by itself. Maybe it's "elov" as in a name? Not sure. Alternatively, could
it be an abbreviation or an acronym? Hmm.
Wait, perhaps I should think differently. Let me consider that maybe one of these words is the odd one out
because they belong to different categories. For example, bacon and cupcake are food items, while love is an
emotion. So if OLEV is "love", then it's the odd one out as it's not a food item.
But I'm still unsure about OLEV forming "love" because that would require rearranging letters differently. Let
me check: L-O-V-E versus O-L-E-V. If I have O-L-E-V, that can't form love directly, but maybe with an extra 'O' or
something? Wait, no, the fragment is only four lettersAlternatively, perhaps OLEV is "levo", which is a term used in chemistry to describe the levorotatory direction of
optical rotation. But that's quite specific and might not be considered a common word.
Wait, maybe I'm overcomplicating this. Let me think again: NBOAC can be bacon, KAUCCPE can be cupcake, so
OLEV must form another common word. Maybe it's "elov" as an abbreviation for something? Or perhaps it's a
typo and should be "love".
Wait, let me try rearranging the letters of OLEV to see if I can make "love". The letters are O, L, E, V. To spell
love, we need L-O-V-E, which requires two Os? No, wait: L-O-V-E uses each letter once. But in OLEV, we have
one O, so that's correct. Wait, but the letters are O, L, E, V – yes, that is exactly what "love" needs. So maybe I
was just confused earlier.
So, rearranging OLEV gives us "love".
Wait, no: OLEV has O, L, E, V. Love is L-O-V-E. So yes, it's the same letters. Therefore, OLEV can be rearranged to
form "love".
Okay, so now I have the three words: bacon, cupcake, and love.
Now, which one is the odd one out? Well, bacon and cupcake are both food items, while love is an emotion or
feeling. So love would be the odd one out because it's not a food item.
</think>
The three words formed from the fragments are:
1. NBOAC → Bacon
2. KAUCCPE → Cupcake
3. OLEV → Love
Among these, "love" is the odd one out as it represents an emotion rather than a food item, while bacon and
cupcake are both types of food.
Answer: The words are bacon, cupcake, and love. The odd one out is "love."
