That is an amazing thing to find in Michigan of all places. This is a pic of a different builder's plate from the same factory I took a few years ago. On a formerly East German BR120 diesel locomotive, also known as M62.
A blue, diamond-shaped locomotive builder's plate with Russian text. The plate is attached to a dark red locomotive with a yellow stripe.

This is just the Wikipedia blurb on SEGM. There are so many dog whistles in that logo alone it's astounding. Even when they try to hide who they really are, they can't resist showing you. I would not trust them to correctly and neutrally interpret a study on transgender diagnostic data.
Wikipedia excerpt on SGEM:

The Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine (SEGM) is a non-profit organization that is known for its opposition to gender-affirming care for transgender youth and for engaging in political lobbying. SEGM is known for transgender health care misinformation. It has falsely claimed that the majority of transgender children desist, argued that gender exploratory therapy should be the first line treatment for those under 25, and promoted the scientifically unsupported theory of Rapid-onset gender dysphoria. SEGM is often cited in anti-transgender legislation and court cases, sometimes filing court briefs.

SEGM is closely affiliated with Genspect and Therapy First. Seven advisors to SEGM are on Genspect's team of advisors, including Stella O'Malley, Genspect's founder. The Southern Poverty Law Center has designated SEGM and Genspect as anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups since 2023 and described SEGM as "a hub of pseudoscience". Researchers at the Yale School of Medicine issued a report which described SEGM as a small group of anti-trans activists and not "a recognized scientific organization". A spokesperson for the Endocrine Society described them as outside the medical mainstream.[13] A paper published in March 2024 described them as a "fringe medical organization".

So much this. #ai deplet.ing/the-copilot-...
Extract from the blog post:

This isn’t about tools or productivity or acceleration. It’s about the illusion of progress. Because if that programmer-if that thing, that CREATURE-walked into your stand-up in human form, typing half-correct garbage into your codebase while ignoring your architecture and disappearing during cleanup, you’d fire them before they could say "no blockers".

But slap Microsoft's marketing label on it and plug it into the IDE of every developer in the org? Now that’s innovation. Science. Progress. Profit.

A real copilot, on a commercial airline? They know the plane. The systems. They’ve done the simulations. They go through recertification. When they speak, it’s to enhance the pilot... Not to shotgun random advice into the cockpit and eject themselves mid-flight.

Copilot isn’t that. It’s just the ghost of a thousand blog posts and cocky stack-overflow posts whispering, "Hey, I saw this once. With my eyes. Which means it's good code. Let’s deploy it." Then vanishing when the app hits production and the landing gear won’t come down.

I may not have a #modelrailway layout at the moment, but new models are still being released. Like the new run of the Queensland coal and grain wagons which I've been waiting and hoping for. Managed to secure the exact set I wanted, with two graffiti'd wagons to complement the one I already own.

I have #modelrailway sads today. A new run has dropped for Queensland coal and grain wagons, and I had budgeted for two more sets. But the new run is way more expensive than I thought, and well outside my budget. I may only be able to get one more set, if at all. 😞

Coalition senator Susan McDonald has told a gas industry conference in Sydney that a Coalition government would give gas the same status as a critical mineral to allow the industry to access a $4bn export finance fund that was set up to support the transition to net zero.

McDonald said:

I can announce today that to boost investment, a Coalition government will elevate gas to the same status as a critical mineral. This will ensure gas projects are able to apply for funding from the $4 billion critical minerals facility.
This will ensure gas projects so critical to our national and international security are able to access specialised teams within the Department of Resources to support their projects.
The facility is a fund managed by Export Finance Australia. It was established to support projects that are in line with the goals of the government’s critical minerals strategy, which aims to boost the critical minerals sector as energy systems transition to clean energy.

Any regular SUV or ute not of the US monster ilk have no trouble fitting into Australian parking spaces if the driver is not a complete dropkick. Compared to European parking, Australian parking is fairly generous in size. The only ones that can't fit are the monstrously oversized US trucks.

In all honesty - banks are a major part of the problem.
"The Commonwealth Bank has recorded a $9.5bn full year cash profit, a modest decline from last year’s record, in a robust result generated against a backdrop of rising household costs.

CBA’s chief executive, Matt Comyn, said that while many Australians were challenged by cost-of-living pressures and were experiencing falling levels of disposable income, the economy remained resilient.

Comyn said:

Higher interest rates are slowing the economy and gradually moderating inflation.

Australia remains well positioned but downside risks continue around productivity, housing affordability, as well as ongoing global uncertainty."Australia’s largest bank, which generates the bulk of its revenue from mortgage and business lending, has recorded increased numbers of customers falling behind on repayments.

Commonwealth bank branch
The 90-plus day “past due” arrears for home loans jumped 18 basis points during the year, according to the results released this morning.

Consumer arrears also jumped in a reflection of the “impact of higher interest rates and cost of living pressures on some borrowers”.

The bank declared a final dividend of $2.50 per share, up from $2.40 a year ago.
