Bizarre that a company as big as @yahoo.bsky.social who, presumably, want to be thought of as trustworthy would let these scam adverts be peppered throughout peoples inboxes. (FYI: none of this happened on @bbcnewsnight.bsky.social and it's not a BBC News page)
A fake BBC News webpage with the headline - "You're Lying to Millions of Hard-Working Britons": How Martin Lewis Exposed the Bank of England's Elite Secret on Live Television", accompanied by an AI generated photo of Martin Lewis, on the "Newsnight set", pointing at the Governor of the Bank of England, with a shocked-looking Fiona Bruce in the middle of them. The article continues, "The BBC Question Time confrontation that left the Governor of the Bank of England speechless — and revealed how ordinary Britons can finally take back control of their finances". The article is dated "20 April 2026" and boasts "588 Comments".

Anyone who received their postal ballot today in the South of Scotland region, please be aware that "Independent Green Voice", which appears second on the list on the peach regional ballot paper, is NOT the Scottish Green Party. This is in fact a deliberate vote spoiling attempt by right-wingers.
Photo of the South of Scotland regional ballot paper for the Scottish election on 7th May 2026. Added text identifies the "INDEPENDENT GREEN VOICE" as "NOT the Green Party" and "SCOTTISH GREEN PARTY" as "The actual Green Party".

I remember once hearing "cut!" shouted on set and realised it was me who was meant to be talking. I was so rapt in what Sandy was doing - a quietly terrifying but mesmerising performance - that I had completely forgotten about the scene I was in! Rest in peace, pal 🧡

Very sad news. I was lucky enough to work with Sandy on River City. Foremost, he was a warm, funny, thoughtful and kind human being but he was also a quite brilliant actor... 1/2 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I don't think honestly drilling down into "the values that have always defined us" will be that fun an exercise for the author, if I'm honest...

Also been reading that it's the "sub-optimal" route to remove him. It only allows for a temporary vacation and then the ceiling (votes in both house) required to make it permanent is much higher than if impeachment proceedings were simply initiated.

This is why the 25th Amendment exists. This is the purpose of having the 25th Amendment. To not use this power to remove the president is not a passive act, a mere option: it is a positive decision to misuse the constitution.

Glasgow nominations for the Holyrood election are out. The far-right Independent Green Voice is back. In 2021, this fake party, led by a Holocaust denier thrown out of UKIP, probably cost the Scottish Greens two MSPs.

Have you engaged with her, Leigh, to perhaps find out why she feels as she does? I'd suggest that anti-trust in politics is being fed by the decisions made by those in power, rather than opinion pieces. (Also, "slurs" is stretching the definition of that word a LOT)

Often someone (salaried) will mention it, I'll look blank, and they'll say something like, "Aw, of course, you don't get bank holidays, do you?". To which I usually reply, with a smile, " Every day's a bank holiday, if I want!"

Reform is running "Scotland is at breaking point" posters, singling out Glasgow as "the illegal immigration capital of the Uk" showing people on boats. Just under 7000 people seeking asylum in Scotland in Dec. No official estimates of the undocumented population. The Glasgow claim is nonsense.

"And. if Goodwin truly believes Britair
is carved up into irreconcilable
sectarian blocs, he should explain how
the very voters he derides as Islamists
packed a white, working-class woman
standing for a party led nationally by
Zack Polanski - a Jewish man - in
such numbers. That is not the
behaviour of a society locked into tribal
warfare. but a constituency rejecting
the right's attempts to contort
multicultural Britain into a series of
warring demographics. Voters have
refused the invitation to see their
neighbours as enemies. It looks. in
other words, like a healthy democracy."
