(I would normally DM but I want to respect your wishes) I just want to say I’m sorry that this touched a nerve, I wasn’t trying to be mean, and I appreciate what you seem to be about in general. I could have approached this more constructively instead of a joke I thought would go unseen 💜

I’m pointing out that it’s difficult for even the most discerning social media users to see this post and determine who you’re trying to ban, because of the prominent logos in the link. I’m a proud weirdo, but I agree with you and think clarity of message is important. You aren’t achieving that.

A screenshot of the OP, text says BAN THESE AGENCIES and the logos of OCHU, CUPE, and CCPA are prominent above a headline about for profit staffing agencies

🌈 Ashlyn @rainbowashlyn.bsky.social · 12/05/2025

“Who is this weirdo who wants to ban CUPE and CCPA?!” “Oh they’re just bad at messaging ok, cool”

Working my church job this morning, rev Stefan begins with “Hello, welcome, and I’m sorry you couldn’t get brunch reservations”. Best opener I’ve heard in a long time haha

Today’s tiny ray of hope: repotted a bunch of my seedlings. Some of those itty bitty tomatoes have 6-8” root systems. That feels hopeful. Any tiny rays of hope for you lately?

In front of a window, under grow lights, hundreds of tiny plants are growing in little containers of various sizes.

Shit there’s no way to add alt text after the fact eh? Pics: a huge bowl of fancy crackers and me holding a handful of freshly picked rosemary in front of the window where it grew.

Made some super delicious individually hand rolled crackers with the rosemary from my windowsill and fancy smoked salt. This is the kind of special fussy shit I love doing.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, author of The Gulag Archipelago, has something to say to us today: “And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: what would things have been like if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive..."

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If… if… We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more—we had no awareness of the real situation… We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

ADHD is putting off a thing for weeks, agonising over putting off the thing, catastrophising about putting off the thing, getting stressed about the catastrophising, contributing hours of energy to all of the above, then one day impulsively doing the thing and having it take 5 minutes.

You should go to musuem or an observatory or a botanical gardens or a zoo or an aquarium or even the library and learn as much as you can while you can. Learn about things you have never experienced. Learn how people and places and things are or were far across time and space. Revel in experiences.

I have a lot of practice asking people to stop making sounds and various experiences if it going well or poorly. Happy to rp some scenarios if that would help!
