Took the kids on a METRA adventure for the first time. No idea why I waited so long. I kinda wish the Saturday schedule was a little more generous, but this is such a nice and quiet ride compared to the CTA.

In an attempt to remedy my suffering attention span, I picked this up. @scalzi.com writes in a way that just jives with my brain and I’m loving this so far. My first book of his I read was Kaiju Preservation Society and I couldn’t put it down. Figured I’d start at the beginning with Old Man’s War.

This is very misleading. Air traffic control TRAINEES (new hires) are getting a 30% raise while they are at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. They are not controllers yet. Certified Professional Controllers (CPCs) have not received any new increases in pay or benefits.
