Government internet-related consultations should stop beating around the bush and just write: Here's our latest proposal to entrench big tech, which we will wrongly claim is going to hold them to account because we do not understand what we are attempting to regulate.

Appeals Court Pauses Minnesota’s Nudify Law, Which Ignored Its Own Supreme Court’s Roadmap.
I feel I need to start out posts like this by reminding anyone that nudification apps are bad. They're almost exclusively used to abuse and harass people, most often women. That said, if you're going to ban them legally, you can't just say "nudification apps are illegal." That's not how the First Amendment works. And,...

The image displays the Knight's Armament Company (KAC) KS-1 (Knight's Stoner 1), a modern 5.56mm NATO assault rifle.

This specific configuration showcases a full-length M-LOK handguard, URX integrated rail systems, a distinctive textured pistol grip, a Magpul-style triangular stock configuration, and a proprietary windowed polymer magazine. The KS-1 platform has notably been selected as the alternative primary weapon system for elite military units, including the UK Ranger Regiment and Royal Marines Commando forces.

Would you like more technical specifications regarding the KS-1's operating system, or are you looking for details on its adoption by military forces?

Trial of live facial recognition in London stations ends with a false positive and no arrests
Freedom of information request finds six-month trial cost £320,000, used almost 100 police hours and led to just one – incorrect – alert A six-month trial of live facial recognition (LFR) technology in London’s railway stations that cost more than £320,000 and almost 100 hours of police officers’ time ended in one false match against a watchlist of suspects and no arrests. More than half a million faces were scanned between February and July this year in some of the capital’s busiest transport hubs during the British Transport Police (BTP) trial of the surveillance technology, which aimed to help catch offenders and people breaching court orders.
