I have euthanized hundreds of animals with pentobarbital. It sounds like they blew the vein or missed it entirely and were pushing the drug in to the soft tissue of her arm, not her vein. She asked if her arm "was supposed to feel this way". It is not. She shouldn't have felt numbness, tingling, etc

Reminder of when Chotiner interviewed Joe Biden's ambassador to Israel, Jack Lew, and Lew said that it was OK to kill the children of Hamas fighters. Lew and others in leadership also let slip that the purpose of the USAID humanitarian response in Gaza was to support Israeli military objectives.

Thinking of my friend's father who still insists "someone just randomly sent" CSAM to his phone and he just oopsie clicked a random link... His kids know what he did that he wasn't prosecuted for. Bitter, miserable, and resentful describes him well.

A decade ago my husband used to have to chase scrappers away from the foundry where he worked with, uh, things that would be considered weapons outside of the foundry property. Historical markers don't have burly guys with sledgehammers and other blunt objects guarding them.

My mom has faced the exact same issue after bumping her head (badly!) and getting a concussion. It's really, really hard to keep/seek/get/keep a job with a TBI. It doesn't help if you come across as "high functioning" and thus not in need of services because you have a large vocabulary.

Things I was frightened of as a child: 1. the vacuum cleaner 2. the bathtub drain 3. the creature that lived under the claw foot tub and ate all the slimy hair from the bathtub drain 4. the witching hour (midnight to 1:00 a.m.) 5. dad's Makita power drill (I am still afraid of the vacuum cleaner)
