#otd 65 years ago, thousands of Algerian men & women took to the streets of Paris demanding Algeria’s independence. Police, led by Paris police chief (and former Nazi collaborator Maurice Papon) used extreme violence, killing between 100 and 200, many of whom were thrown into the River Seine.
