Goodness! White folks travel-sprinting across entire continents are the worst. What a jerk! Hope the wife is safe. I’ve often thought of intimate racism and will write about it once I can research it adequately, but I know of so many interracial relationships that have this skewed balance of power.

Ice has detained my Indian wife.
I am a US born citizen, my wife is from India. I met her back in 2018 while traveling in Asia. We legally married here in the US in 2022. But yesterday, for some reason, ICE detained my wife. They don't answer my calls, nor want to give any reason as for why they detained her. We are legally married, so l have no idea why. I'm actually scared for her.
I even voted for Trump, I voted republican for a better economy, for them to take care of the criminals and ILLEGALS in our streets, NOT for them to take my wife away. I am so f*in sorry for voting for him.
What can I do? Why are they doing this??

I’m an extremely loyal person. In 2022, a prominent English-language publisher reached out to me for a book on decolonial queerness. I declined citing paucity of time. I knew that my foremost commitment was to French readers as I’m based in France. My ‘gram stories are full of such pictures today!

Mon essai *Frontières queer* sort demain dans les librairies françaises. Il s'ouvre sur des inscriptions en persan et mon incapacité à les lire en raison du illettrisme organisé, et colonial et postcolonial. La possibilité de mémorialiser nos histoires trans et queer est ainsi anéantie; malgré ce fait, nous tentons de les reconstituer. Ce sont ces complexités transnationales que j'évoque dans l'essai, en intégrant des conceptualisations ardues (pouvoir biopolitique des frontières, décolonial-ité, féminisme, queer of color,...) que nous croisons afin de comprendre nos mondes trans et queer.

My book *Frontières queer* will be available in bookshops across France tomorrow. It begins with my incapacity to decipher Persian inscriptions due to organised illiteracy concurrently colonial and postcolonial. The possibility to recover our trans and queer histories is thus denied to us even as we attempt to stitch them together. It is such transnational complexities that I signal in the book, incorporating messy theorisations (border biopolitics, decolonial-ity, feminism, queer of color critique...) that we encounter to understand our trans and queer moment.

I don’t concur w/ the view that Ed Sheeran didn’t ‘take sides’. He most certainly did. And, it’s not about accumulated wealth ($200-300 million?). An ethical position isn’t directly dependent upon financial stability. It is nonetheless critical to disallow further monetary benefits through boycotts.
