I believe some homosexuals cannot help but have devious thoughts for people of the same sex. These people deserve compassion. But children should not be taught it is normal, and many grow out of it. And some homosexuals are predators. The institution of marriage must remain between man and woman.

While the Quakers did really well here, I want to stress how bonkers it is that literally every public institution has to work through this and the coming vexatious lawsuits. The court erred with consequence and then the Government compounded it.

Reminder for all watching the Labour party go "well, we have to enforce segregation of trans people, the law's the law" The UK is not the USA. Parliament is sovereign and Labour have a thumping big majority; they could, trivially, amend the equality act to end this. They are choosing not to.

And just in case you were wondering, Julie Bindel thinks you're an extremist just for attending Trans Pride. Might as well join us, eh? tinyurl.com/JoinBASHBACK
A photo of Julie Bindel, alongside the headline "There's nothing to celebrate about the extremism of trans Pride"Bash Back was in attendance: “Stand-up, fight back!” as was the usual omni-cause, with some claiming the trans “genocide” to be comparable to what is happening in Gaza. Sex workers’ rights activists were there too. Chants and slogans proclaimed “trans joy”, and there was a near-constant refrain of “HRT, HRT, over the counter and for free!”

What folks don't get about these groups is just how powerful, well-connected, and legally literate they really are. The research Abigail cited here, we took to no less than 20 press outlets before putting it out online, and most of them folded under legal threats, killing the stories dead.

Aside from how what the polling shows is that the public care about every other issue way more than doing transphobia, I guess it's good to know that if the public was opposed to Black people being able to use public toilets, Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson would logically support them being banned too.

Cass has this tendency to be both a massive transphobe, then counter with something that vaguely supports trans people. What a lot of people don’t understand is, doctors often aren’t that bright. It’s an assumption, that because you need good grades for med school we’re all geniuses. We’re not.

So near, so "far". Spot the difference the word "far" has in clause 1(3) of this draft Bill. Even if one takes this exemption seriously, why "far" below rather than below? This is an exemption which swallows the prohibtiton.

Usually when the government seeks to prohibit or ban something they treat it like a spell. That’s why they often don’t work. But sometimes the government will self-sabotage a ban by having exceptions so wide so as to render the ban ineffective. Like fox hunting, and now like this.

It's the 1st October 2010 and the BBC explains the new Equality Act. www.bbc.co.uk/news/busines...
From BBC Web site article date 1st October 2010 and entitled "New equality rights in workplace come into force"

URL: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-11446650

Business cost

The Equality and Human Rights Commission said: "Everyone is protected by the new law.

"It [the Act] covers age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex (meaning gender) and sexual orientation.

"Under the act people are not allowed to discriminate, harass or victimise another person because they belong to a group that the Act protects, they are thought to belong to one of those groups or are associated with someone who does."

I don’t think anything sums up how ridiculous the new EHRC guidance is than the fact it describes those protected by the characteristic of gender reassignment to be those undergoing a process to “reassign their sex”, a thing the exact same part of the document says isn’t legally possible. Nonsense.
Gender reassignment
2.36 The Act defines gender reassignment as a protected characteristic (section 7, paragraph 1). People who are proposing to undergo, are undergoing or have undergone a process (or part of a process) to reassign their sex by changing physiological or other attributes of sex have the protected characteristic of gender reassignment.Gender Recognition Certificates (GRC)
2.49 The Supreme Court in For Women Scotland Ltd v The Scottish Ministers (For Women Scotland) [2025] UKSC 16 has ruled that a GRC does not change a person's legal sex for the purposes of the Equality Act 2010. The judgment held that 'sex', ‘woman' and 'man' mean, respectively, biological sex, biological
woman and biological man for the purposes of the Equality Act. The judgment uses the expression 'biological sex' to describe the sex of a person at birth.
The phrase 'biological sex' has the same meaning when used throughout this
Code. This is also referred to as 'sex at birth' in this Code.
