The danger I'm trying to prevent is rapists being treated how he's being treated here, which is how basically every rapist is currently treated: a mass of people showing up yelling "omg think of the poor rapist, he feels so bad already, why do you want him to suffer consequences for his actions?"

The fact that someone comitted sexual abuse is actually a very good predictor that they will do it again, and so it someone being in a position of power a good predictor for them abusing that power, so that combination should not mix.
