42. QUEER AS FOLKLORE by Sacha Coward - 4👑 This was an interesting nonfiction book taking a look at the connection between certain creatures and stories and queer identity. Honestly, the title says it all.

The cover of Queer as Folklore by Sacha Coward. It's a yellow cover with red and black lettering. It features a queer person mixed with all kinds of creatures. They have a fish tail, a muscular torso with a big heart medal, fairy wings, a mustache, and a unicorn horn.

41. MY MOTHER'S RIDICULOUS RULES FOR DATING by Philip William Stover - 3👑 A standalone M/M romance that left me with very mixed feelings. I think the character I liked most was the love interest, who unfortunately didn't have his own POV. It got a few chuckles out of me though, so there is that.

The cover of My Mother's Ridiculous Rules for Dating by Philip William Stover. It's a blue cover with the silhouette of the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. It's a graphic cover and depicts a man standing with one of his legs crossed before the other, wearing a yellow shirt, blue pants, white sneakers and rainbow colored socks. He scratches his head with one hand and helds a very long scroll of paper that curves behind his legs.

40. TRIPLE WORLD SCORE by Craig Schaefer - 4👑 The 12th Daniel Faust book, and the first I read right as it came out! The good thing about these books is that you can always be certain Schaefer will deliver. No disappointment here. 3 heists, 3 worlds, one Enemy. Can't wait for the boss fight.

The cover of Triple World Score by Craig Schaefer. It's dominantly red and yellow, it has broken glass around the frame, and the focus is on the car coming right at us with headlights on, with a hand reaching out for it in the background.

39. ONCE WAS WILLEM by M.R. Carey - 3.5👑 This was my first book from M.R. Carey and I liked it, mostly. It had interesting themes and ideas, but I wasn't always fan of the pacing and it lost my attention sometimes. Still, I think I'll give a chance to other books by this author.

The cover of Once Was Willem by M.R. Carey. It's a red and black illustrated cover that hides silhouettes of swords, monsters, skulls, snakes and at least one human being among plants and flowers. The title is in the focus with its golden color and old-fashioned font.

✨🖋️SEPTEMBER🖋️✨ No writing done in September as I'm *still* waiting for feedback. They are coming, though! But I took the time to sit down and try to have a general idea of how Part 2 should play out. I *think* I have Damien and Ben's arcs figured more or less. Current wordcount is still 33.275

Oooh. I love Ben and Damien's bantering. Or Gigi chewing Ben's ass. But I'll go with the rooftop scene. Ben and Damien have a chat about their relationship, they have some tender moments, then comes a realisation that surprised even me when I was writing it. It was a very pivotal moment.

#SongsOfSeptember Day 30 A bit sad this had come to an end. I had fun. As for promotion, well, I'm currently halfway out of blogging halfway into writing, so bit of a no man's land situation here. I do have a newsletter though (see my pinned post), if you are so inclined to keep up to date with me!

BristolCon also just works very well with my work schedule, lol. I'd love to go to Montreal, but 1) too fucking far (which is to say too expensive) and 2) its timing sucks for me anyway. I might do Dublin in 2029. MIGHT. Depends on finances.

#SongsOfSeptember Day 29 I most definitely want to use Glow by Livingston, because I'm obsessed with this song. Could go either for emotional or the couple. Probably the latter, to be honest. youtu.be/snF9cYdb3VY?...

Okay people, give me your comfort (re)reads! I need to pick my next audiobook, but I'm not in the mood for anything. Normally I'd go for a comfort reread, which used to be the HP series, but I can't do that for obvious reasons. Also, because I listened that to death and I need something better.

To be fair, you really can't go wrong with KJ Charles. Definitely added to the TBR, thank you!

A Natural History of Dragons had been on my TBR since forever. And I already have the audiobook. Hmm. Definitely a good contender.

It's that time again! September edition of the newsletter will go out hopefully on Wednesday, but definitely this week. Probably won't be the most exciting newsletter I ever sent out, but hey, at least it's going out, so that's a win in my book.

#SongsOfSeptember Day 27 I'm only a third way through of my draft for Inkfeather, but I know exactly how I want it to end, even if sometimes I'm tempted to change my mind. Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi is the reason why I won't give in to temptation. youtu.be/zABLecsR5UE?...

#SongsOfSeptember Day 25 Hahahaha ha... Uplifting song... Sure... Uh... I used I'll Be There before which is the most fitting on my playlist, so I'll go for the second, Love Like That by Phillip Phillips. Inkfeather is not an uplifting kind of story in general, I'm afraid. youtu.be/9v1I-c8EPKM?...

#SongsOfSeptember Day 24 Today I'm giving the spotlight to Gabriela. She's Damien's half sister (used to be his half brother, but needed to change her gender for reasons). Anyway, her song is Raise Hell by Dorothy. youtu.be/rmYyPcEQKU4?...

#SongsOfSeptember Day 23 I don't usually listen to instrumental music, tho I like violin rock covers occasionally. But today I'm picking a Hungarian duo, Havasi (solo pianist) and Endi (drummer of a rock band) who recorded one album as Drum & Piano project. youtu.be/a223NhxoCpA?...

Thank you 💜I really love this song, too.

#SongsOfSeptember Day 21 Ahahahaha... look, one of my MCs (Damien) is the lead singer of a rock band, while the other (Ben) is the owner of a rock club. Suprising absolutely no one who knows me. Music is an important part of Inkfeather, although not the main thing. Still.

#SongsOfSeptember Day 19 It was harder than it should have been, and I literally just had the solution coming up this morning. It's I'll Be There by Jess Glynne. Could go either for Gigi and Wendy's friendship, or rather for Damien's found family Mikes and Avery. youtu.be/iQp1_GfDhwQ?...

#SongsOfSeptember Day 17 I wanted to have the spotlight on Gigi. She's Ben's younger sister, who is also his business partner, and a general pain in his ass. I picked Dear Daughter by Halestorm because she has a baby girl and some hard times. Plus Lzzy Hale vibes. youtu.be/WHPVb-qMzsY?...
