The Appellate Division ruled today that “the amendments that passed on August 25, 2026, are invalid” — the Brooklyn Democratic Party can’t change its rules to reverse an election result. This is a victory for democracy and for common sense. www.nycourts.gov/courts/ad2/H... 1/🧵

Let us be clear: Brooklyn needs a fair vote by the elected District Leaders. The Chair attempting to pick her own successor after she lost an election isn’t democracy, it's cronyism, and the illegal rules changes she has fought to enact would permanently end democratic oversight of our party.

This, plus the fact they're doing grievous damage to public trust in our local judiciary. I don't spend my precious free time on this because it's fun (it's not). I do it because it REALLY FREAKING MATTERS! (plus I have the ADHD classic trait of justice sensitivity)

If Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn proceeds with her anti-democratic maneuver tomorrow, there's a small chance the reformers' court case would prevail. But the law is murky enough to allow an RBH-allied judge to rule in RBH's favor. The best approach remains for all to refuse to recognize RBH as chair.

In order to fix Queens' judicial system, we will need to elect a majority of Democratic district leaders who are not subservient to Gerard Sweeney, Michael Reich, and Frank Bolz—who (with Greg Meeks as the figurehead) control the Queens Dem Party. Until then, petition fraud by incumbents will stand.
