Thank you to my fellow @cquid718.bsky.social steering committee members for putting our feelings into words. As a @queenswfp.bsky.social member I am deeply disappointed by the decision to not endorse @chuckforqueens.bsky.social for NY-6 (my very district).

The Queens chapter and RAC of @nywfp.bsky.social voted to endorse @chuckforqueens.bsky.social against Grace Meng, who takes loads of money from AIPAC - the fact that this was overturned is worrisome and undemocratic. Proud to see @cquid718.bsky.social speak up on it.

CENTRAL QUEENS INDEPENDENT DEMOCRATS STATEMENT REGARDING NEW YORK WORKING FAMILIES PARTY'S ENDORSEMENT PROCESS IN NY-6 🧵 1/8 @nywfp.bsky.social @queenswfp.bsky.social @workingfamilies.org @mauricewfp.bsky.social @chuckforqueens.bsky.social
Central Queens Independent Democrats statement with Central Queens Independent Democrats logo/letterhead at the top, below them reads: CENTRAL QUEENS INDEPENDENT DEMOCRATS STATEMENT REGARDING NEW
YORK WORKING FAMILIES PARTY'S ENDORSEMENT PROCESS IN NY-6
FOREST HILLS, NEW YORK-The Central Queens Independent Democrats express our profound frustration with the New York Working Families Party's handling of its endorsement decision in the Congressional District 6 race. For years, our organizations have been aligned in both values and practicegrounded in transparency, grassroots leadership, and respect for democratic process. That is why it is so deeply concerning that NYWFP leadership chose to override the clear recommendation of its own local chapter and Regional Advisory Council, bodies closest to the communities we collectively serve. We stand firmly with those local and regional leaders, whose judgment reflects the voices, priorities, and lived realities of the district.
Disregarding that input represents not just a break from past practice, but a troubling erosion of the principles that have defined our shared work.
Our club is proud to support Chuck Park because we believe he embodies the accountable, community-rooted leadership this moment demands. While differences in endorsement decisions are expected in coalition politics, the manner in which this decision was reached-marked by reversal, opacity, and disregard for established process-raises serious concerns about internal consistency and respect for grassroots partners. We remain committed to the progressive values that have long united us with WFP, but that commitment requires honesty. This decision has strained trust. We urge NYWFP to reflect and recommit to a transparent, member-driven process that honors the voices of its local and regional leadership.

Tonight, I'll go home and sleep in my bed. I have a lawyer, I'll get due process. But Edgardo, whose arm was ripped from mine by ICE agents, has none of those things. That's why I'll keep coming back to court, week after week, to make sure that people's rights are protected.

Queens, New York

The unlawful arrest of New York City Comptroller Brad Lander by ICE is a blatant and deeply troubling abuse of power that underscores the agency’s ongoing pattern of overreach and disregard for democratic norms. We unequivocally condemn this political targeting of an elected official who has consistently stood with immigrant communities and challenged systemic injustice. This act is not only an affront to due process but a dangerous escalation in the criminalization of dissent and advocacy. We demand Brad Lander’s immediate release and a full investigation into this egregious violation of civil liberties.

Friends, we are now within TWO (2) POINTS. The latest poll from @dataforprogress.org shows the final RCV round as follows: 51% Andrew Cuomo 49% Zohran Mamdani Source: www.filesforprogress.org/datasets/202...

The excerpted table shows the results of the final ranked-choice voting round among the likely Democratic primary voters surveyed, with cross-tabulations for gender, age, education, race, and geography (i.e., county).

The question reads as follows:

"[11] Please rank the following candidates in the Democratic primary race for New York City Mayor using the numbers 1 through 5, with 1 being your first choice and 5 being your last choice. You must rank at least one option. If you are not sure, please rank Not sure as 1, your first choice."

The topline results are as follows:

51% for Andrew Cuomo
49% for Zohran Mamdani
