Doctrinal differences between Catholics and Protestants should properly be a) theological differences that don't really endanger anyone physically or spiritually that nevertheless b) lead to wildly different aesthetics. We should still be able to agree on the actually important stuff.

This is how I find out that my state (WI) can fine you for even offering to tattoo a minor. Though I suppose a $200 fine isn't necessarily enough to truly dissuade a determined influencer who wants a tatted up kid.

Pierced ears are generally seen as okay since piercings will ordinarily close up if the child subsequently decides they don't like them. IMO it's best practice to wait and use it as 'baby's first big bodily autonomy decision', but it's not child abuse.
