I am this god damn close to starting to make type 1 diabetes content focused around tech, because there's so much stuff out there but no one seems to focus on the tech behind it. The apps are all shit, the UX of everything is awful. I have spent hours figuring things out and it's still bloody awful.

The British Government just used a country wide disaster alert mechanism with full klaxon sounds to remind people not to start fires. This is the same alert system designed to warn of impending catastrophe, including war, evacuation orders, and in the worst case, inbound nuclear strike.

We just found out our AI has been making up

So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.

So I started messing with this as the concept of an infinite runner set in space. The problem is there's nothing to slow you down in space, so there's no real challenge. You could gain velocity from swinging from the planets, but you wouldn't lose anything

Today the Supreme Court voted to exclude a group of persecuted people from equality legislation.

Their ruling centred on the word "biology", with the judge stating that biological sex is "assumed to be self-explanatory and to require no further explanation."

Speaking in a professional capacity as museum of biology: this is not how biology works.

There are no binaries in nature, and biology, like all sciences, should never be taken for granted or assumed to be "self-explanatory". Even worse, it should never be used to justify weaponised culture war issues.

This ruling is an abuse of science.

We have spoken many times before about this - there is immense variation between individuals within a biological sex.

Biological sex itself (not just gender) is a spectrum - and it really shouldn't be a big deal.

If you don't like trans people then just be honest about your prejudices.

But don't use biology to support your views in the same way that racists do.

Our trans siblings must be defended at all costs. If we allow the limitation of their rights then other minorities won't be far behind.

Maybe you'll be next?
