Ofgem announced that energy bills will go down by 7% from 1 April. Our Director of Policy Peter Smith welcomes a reduction of £117 from the typical annual bill but says, 'Those on the lowest incomes in the leakiest homes will face deep debt and will still struggle to stay warm and well at home.'

It’s difficult to make Christmas feel magical when you can barely cover the essentials. Right now, there are 6 million children living in cold homes. Their parents are trying desperately to make ends meet and pay for essentials like food, heating and electricity.

All registered providers of social housing will need to follow Awaab’s law from today. If they fail to do so, tenants will be able to hold their landlords to account by taking legal action through the courts for a breach of contract.

'As a clinician I've seen how much homes can impact people's health - especially children. Before this programme there wasn't anything meaningful I could do. But now we have preventative solutions at the tips of our fingers. The impact is massive.'

Ignore the nonsense of a 2% rise in domestic energy bills from today. ELECTRICITY standing charge UP 4.5%, units UP 2.41% GAS standing charge UP 14.12%, units DOWN 0.63% %ages differ for people who pay quarterly. Stand Charge now £16.33/month electricity and £10.35/month - more for quarterly
