I really hope legalising assisted dying doesn't come at the cost of improving palliative care. We need both. It's a travesty that hospices are run as charities and not government funded. Everyone deserves to die with dignity and comfort - it is possible and necessary

Improving parental leave is one thing that could result in both economic growth and people feeling "better off", as in, their lives feel fairer, more grounded, more equal. It also gives off an impression that Labour understands the everyday stressors of working people. Seems a no-brainer to me
