In honor of The Ghost and Molly McGee’s 5 year anniversary, I wanted to share this excerpt from the show’s pitch bible. (Credit to tgammsideblog on Tumblr for sharing!)

This is a show about a ghost and the girl who brings him back to life.

Scratch doesn’t remember how or when he became a ghost… though he does have a sense his afterlife isn’t much different from the one he lived. He kept to himself and lived alone. Worried about rejection, he never risked a friendship deeper than a casual acquaintance. Fearing heartbreak, he never dared to fall in love. His goals were modest and safely attainable. He didn’t take chances. He never dared to dream.

Molly McGee invades Scratch’s solitary existence with all the mess and fury of someone who wants to live life to the fullest. She dares, she dreams, and she gets disappointed. She loves, she laughs, and feels the sting of loss. Her faith is flustered, her hope hampered, but she keeps on trying, believing, risking, putting herself out there again and again.

Though Scratch refuses to admit it, he admires her resilience and her passion to make the world a better place. What's more, he even kind of likes being a part of it.

For the first time, maybe ever, Scratch is
opening up. He's becoming vulnerable.
He's experiencing joy.

In short, he's coming alive... maybe more literally than anyone, especially him, thought possible.

So I learned that Walt Disney World Quest: Magical Racing Tour was supposed to have a track based on Journey Into Imagination, and I almost got sad… …but then I remembered the game was released in 2000, so it probably would’ve been based on Journey Into YOUR Imagination, soooooo… crisis averted!

The Passing of Peter Cullen made me realize that we’ve lost the earliest voice of Mario. He voiced Mario in the Donkey Kong Segments of the Saturday Supercade Show from the 80s. A devastating loss for sure.

Tim Curry was a legendary actor, one of the handful to nail a perfect balance between voice and on-screen roles. His role as Nigel Thornberry in particular was extremely memorable; he brought so much fun energy to the show with his eclectic personality. Rest in peace… you will be missed…

If you’re wondering, the gems she’s adding are Hyper-Reaction Orb Crystals, an energy-charged gemstone from my own game idea Orb Sweep. I matched the colors based on the commission that Charmstuff did of my character Jenny.
