WIP Wednesday! Chapter 2 of "Think of This as Better Times" is posting tomorrow, and I finally get to some interactions with Katsuki. This is at the end of 3rd year at UA, just before graduation.

An excerpt from Chapter 2 of the fic "Think of This as Better Times" describing Izuku talking to Katsuki about their plans for after graduation.

New Year New Fic! I've been obsessed with it the past few months, and am finally ready to start posting😁 Time travel, unreliable narrators, and a smidge of slow burn just to confuse things even more. Think of This as Better Times, rated T, Chapter 1 of 14 just posted. Check it out! 🔗in comments

Screenshot of description of Ao3 fic called Think of This as Better Times. Rated T, Chapter 1 of 14. Summary: Izuku faces a lot of changes in his teens and early 20s, but three things remain a constant: his tendency to not take himself into account, his admiration for Kacchan, and his run-ins with random people at a cafe in his neighborhood. One could help him, one could destroy him, and one will change the course of history.

Proof that my job sucks the life out of me sometimes: Averaged about 350 words a day in my WIP during most of December. Wrote about 10,000 words over the past 4 days of being off. Yup. Stress kills creativity. (But I am SO GRATEFUL for the past four days!!!)

The month is over, so I can finally say it - I wrote EVERY DAY in November and churned out just over 40k of my new longfic!!! Hadn't written since August, because work+grad school+family=no free time, but I'm back!!! Looking at Jan 1 to start posting - it's the 5 year anniversary of my first fic 😊

Sometimes I wish I was more of a "dump everything on the page" kind of writer when I have a new idea, because outlining is not nearly as satisfying as writing actual scenes. HOWEVER - I am SO EXCITED about the current wip - 14ish chapters planned out, first chapter in progress 😁

The issue with writing time travel fanfics, I am coming to learn, is that unless the MC is travelling both to and from something close to canon, you essentially need to write two fics. Or at least heavily outline the part that's not in the main fic itself. Oh well, the more (words) the merrier 😁

purpleinsomniac @purpleinsomniac.bsky.social · 07/08/2025

It wasn't the best idea to try to force myself to start writing again with an accountability post right before 2 weeks of travel. HOWEVER! Home now with an idea for a time travel/mystery fic and am actually, genuinely excited about writing for the first time in a while. It's a great feeling 🥰

"Girl's Night" (1/1) [bkdkmerau] Peaku sneaks past Deku and Bakugou TOTALLY without being noticed, so that he can spend his Friday night watching drama shows with Uraraka. From the brain of @embracestardust.bsky.social t and this is 100% canon to me.

I have one more Vestige Shigaraki annoys Deku AU, except I combined it with the Vestige Bakugou theory from Heroes Rising. Anyway, everyone's a pro hero now, and Izuku finally figured out how to annoy Tomura for a change 🤣 worth it?

This is my accountability post. It worked to finish IWFY, so it's going to work to get me moving with writing again (because I said so, dammit). Don't care if no one sees it but me, but I am posting one line from SOMETHING I write every day for the rest of the summer, no exceptions!

Writing is fine. It's literally the most embarrassing thing on earth to put yourself on full display for rejection or validation, but it's fine. I enjoy it. I find it therapeutic to set myself on fire.

Considering it took literal months to get 50 kudos when I started, and only had ~250 six months after I finished, this is insane to me. I need to write another side story to celebrate if it hits 1000. Just need to figure out which universe to put it it 😁 So grateful to those who recced it ❤️

Zelda Williams (the daughter of the great Robin Williams) sure had a lot to say about the “Studio Ghibli style” AI images that have been trending recently. I think those people should read these posts and really think about what they’re doing.

I'm taking a grad class for the 1st time in 18 years. I have a paper due today. I have not started the paper yet. It is due in 11.5 hours. I will likely avoid it for at least another 2 hours. Maybe more! Some things never change. I don't know if this is depressing or reassuring.
