Im still mad about this - HOWEVER - there has been a pleasing development. Since competition days are becoming increasingly costly to run and participate in - online competitions are back! During COVID this was the only way to engage with the horse community and for a lot of us, it really expanded

So if you want to know the many and varied ways the Iran "conflict" is inflicting pain on ordinary people - my local ARC, which is 30 - 40km travel for most of us, just cancelled its quarterly gymkhana because many of us cant really afford to tow our horses out for the day right now

Ive never once seen a US tourism ad on Australian TV. Not once in 40+ years. Now every second ad is a US tourism ad and, boy, have they misjudged the market. We have plenty of great outdoors here at home and it doesnt cost us a fortune, our liberty and potentially our lives to access it.

I finally get some leave this week after being denied so much as a day off for three months. I cant express how much it has boosted my morale. Im not even stuck on a ship that's run out of food, fresh water, sanity supplies etc etc. Goddam, its criminal what they're putting those sailors through.

So I try to avoid boomer hell but its the only place I can get local horse community notices, upcoming shows, car boot sales etc etc. So when I have to travel there, I get served a lot of horse content. Its sometimes worthwhile.

Its called manipulation, look it up. Yesterday a colleague was telling me about how her family lived in a rough building for a time but the local gangster would tell her that he was looking out for her. She said it like it was a reassurance. It was not. It was manipulation to buy her compliance.
